I'm still staring at where Baby was last.

Only she's fucking gone.

Dammit.

"Yeah, sorry. What's up?" I ask, glancing back at Oakley.

"You smell really good," she whispers, blinking up at me with blue eyes. But they aren't the blue eyes I love so much.

When she stretches up on her tiptoes to try to kiss me, I take a few giant steps back.

Fuck me. What a mess.I can't be nice to anyone without them thinking I'm hitting on them. It's kinda fucking ridiculous.

"I'm in love with Baby," I blurt out.

My palms are raised in the air. I take another step back, trying to figure out how the hell to get her to back up out of my personal space.

"Um, obviously," Oakley says, rolling her eyes. "I'm in love with Sulli…" She swallows. "I kinda thought we had a mutual understanding that we're trying to make them jealous. Sorry, Sulli was looking. Normally, I'm not a make the first move kinda girl." She huffs. "Well, crap. Now he's never gonna claim me."

Jesus Christ. How do I get myself into these situations?

"Um, sorry, Oaks," I say, stepping backagain. "I don't remember that conversation and, uh… I'm gonna go."

Then I do what I do best. Dip the fuck out.

Chapter Sixteen

Issac Matthews

Riggs cackles at something Love says. He's lounging next to her on the sofa. He's got one of his big meaty hands right on my woman's bare belly. The belly moves. I can see it from here. It's obviously an elbow or a knee.

Riggs grins at Love's stomach. He's far too invested in feelingmykid moving around, and is leaning into her like he's dying for every little touch.

He hasn't had a conversation with me, not about Love anyway. I've given him plenty of opportunities.

I get it. I'm a scary motherfucker. I come off that way due to my size, but I've tried to open a line of dialogue several times. Vince has perfected the look of confusion and slow blinking. That shit kills me. Be a fucking man and communicate with me.

Frowning, I shove my plate away and lean against the counter.

Kitten's stalker is in custody. So it doesn't make much sense to me why we need live-in security.

Kitten insisted we keep them around. She wanted to be sure Love is safe after everything that went down. Which makes sense,I guess. It's why I took over their contract when we gotback from Vegas. It didn't seem right to let Kitten continue to pay their salary.

Marcus Gaffney is also shacked up with us. He's a hell of a loner. We almost never see him, but he's got his own set of issues going on since the truth about his relation to Madness came out.

I guess I can see why everyone wants us to keep up security, but I'm considering replacing these clowns with someone a little more capable. Less likely to sit around eating my food, working out in my gym, and watching my woman like she hung the damn moon.

Maybe I'm just in a foul mood today.

"Who pissed in your cheerios?" Dexter asks. He saunters in shirtless, like always. His long blond hair is pulled back in a bun.

"That guy needs to get his shit together," I whisper, nodding over to Riggs and Love. "Love knows the deal, but if he doesn't have a real talk with me soon… we're gonna have problems."

Dexter catches sight of them and frowns. He shrugs, but his shoulders slump as he lets out a heavy sigh.

Motherfucker. That wasn't my goal.

Dex hasn't changed his stance. He swears he's in love with Love. Maybe he is, but it's real hard to tell with him. He's flighty and unpredictable. Although, if it was true then he might have made more of an effort to prove he was serious.
