‘We need to see this!’ Kane said. ‘It looks like Taylor has gone full-on angry Daddy!’
Bodie and the Littles ran out of the diner, the other Daddies close behind them. They were joined too by everyone from the diner, and several passing citizens as well.
‘Get off me you dumb ape!’ Nigel cried out, his obvious pain prompting a desperate attempt to wriggle free.
‘If I was you, I’d shut the hell up,’ Taylor said, releasing Nigel’s ear and instead putting him in a firm arm-grip. ‘It’s time you learned that Cape Daddy is strictly off-limits to you. And so is Bodie. Do I make myself absolutely clear?’
Nigel continued to struggle. He wasn’t ready to give in just yet.
But neither was Taylor…
‘You may see me as something less than you,’ Taylor barked. ‘But I’m a Modene and our reach goes way beyond Cape Daddy. We just choose to live here because it’s the best damn town in the world. But, as I say, I’ve got contacts that span not just the city, but worldwide. So if I was you, and I thank God I’m not, I’d do the right thing now and leave Bodie the hell alone!’
With that, Taylor performed a throw on Nigel that left him in a heap on the ground. The Daddies stood together and laughed at the sight of the sniveling Nigel, now well and truly put in his place.
Bodie broke free from his Little friends and ran over to Taylor. He couldn’t hide his delight at how he had handled the situation. It was exactly what a true Forever Daddy would do, Bodie knew that.
Not only was Bodie impressed, but the watching crowd was too. Far from being shocked or appalled by Taylor losing his cool, they were delighted.
‘Well done, Mr. Modene!’ Mr. Krumple said, the eighty-three year old war veteran beaming from ear to ear. ‘We’re a welcoming community, but we stand up for ourselves too. You’ve certainly got my vote, Taylor!’
As the crowd burst into applause and whooped in delight as Nigel was escorted away by the sheriff, Bodie leapt into Taylor’s arms and planted a big kiss directly onto his lips.
‘I love you, Daddy!’ Bodie said, his heart full of emotion as the weight of the situation lifted off his dainty shoulders.
‘Same to you, boy,’ Taylor replied, a look of pure emotion in his face.
Bodie could see that this was a big moment for Taylor too. Taylor had seen that he didn’t have to always be such a smooth operator, sometimes he could be emotional too and still be just as popular amongst the good people of Cape Daddy.
‘Now unless you object, I think it’s time to head home for some rest and…naked… relaxation,’ Taylor whispered, his words making Bodie giddy with excitement.
‘Yes, Daddy! Yes, yes, yes!’ Bodie giggled, the pair of them hopping into Taylor’s Porsche, ready to speed up Central Street and head to the Modene residence for some perfect Daddy and Little alone time.
Chapter 10
The following days were fun. Taylor and Bodie soon forgot all about Nigel, and everything was looking up.
But there was still the issue of Bodie’s stuff.
However Bodie and Taylor didn’t have to worry for to long. Bodie’s stuff did finally turn up at Bodie’s house and Taylor and Bodie made the drive across Cape Daddy to check that everything was as it should be…
‘Well it’s definitely all here,’ Bodie said, peeking into the final box and letting out a sigh of relief. ‘There’s probably a heap of stuff I could have done with losing. I do have a tendency to hoard things sometimes!’
Bodie giggled as he pulled out a wad of old movie tickets to prove his point. Taylor rolled his eyes. Bodie was a typical Little, that was for sure.
‘So…,’ Taylor said, something on his mind. ‘I’ve been thinking.’
Taylor paused. He knew that what he was about to say would represent a big step for him and Bodie. Taylor felt confidentabout how Bodie would respond, but there was no denying that he was feeling all kinds of nervous too.
Come on, you’ve said this in your head a hundred times.
You’re his Daddy. He’s your boy.
Just say it…
But the words just wouldn’t come out of Taylor’s mouth. In fact, it took Bodie piping up to make it happen.
‘Yes, Daddy?’ Bodie said, looking adorable in his red and white polka dot dress and pure white trainers. ‘You seem… shy?’
