“Come with me.” He pulled her out of bed and placed his shirt back on her before taking her hand. He led her through a few tunnels before reaching a wall of boulders and tree trunks. It looked like the cave had collapsed. “If you need to get out and hide, use this. You see this lever right here?”

“That’s the way it’s supposed to be. Pull down, and this will open up enough for a human my size to get through, so you’ll have no problem.”
There was a small door that slid open. It was so disguised she would have never known it was there. He somehow made it look like branches crisscrossing and a few rocks on the bottom.
