“Let me clean you up and get you dressed. As much as I want to take you again, I want us in our bed, not on a dusty counter.”
She nodded and helped. He wrapped an arm around her and led her into the main room.
“Tell me about this,” she said.
“I’m going to open an art consignment shop.”
“What’s that?” she asked.
“There are a lot of artists in the area, and they don’t have a place they can sell their art. I’ll sell it for a percentage.”
“Oh, wow. I love that idea.”
“I’ll also be able to have my own shop in this nook and work and be able to see customers.”
She looked up at him. “You do art?”
“Yes, I whittle and do wood statues.”
Wow, a man of many talents. “Do you have some at home that I can see?”
“Sure. The eagle on the mantle is one of my pieces.”
Her mouth dropped open. “Oh, my God! It’s the most beautiful sculpture I’ve ever seen. It’s so intricate.”
She started thinking about the other wood art around the house and even the cave. Hell, her mate was extremely talented, and she couldn’t believe he was all hers.
Chapter Fifteen
Blake liked the shocked look on her face and smiled. “Come on. Let’s go home. I need my mate again before I feed her.”
“I think she’d like that, too.”
He lifted her into his truck when he heard screeching breaks and saw Hunter, Roman’s brother, and the Beta and sheriff in town jump out of the truck and look around.
“Where the hell is she?” he bellowed.
Roman walked out of the building the girls were going to turn into a bakery, with Brenna close behind him.
“How about, ‘hello, it’s nice to see you again’?” Roman said sarcastically. “You’ve been gone a few weeks, brother.”
Hunter grunted. “I know. I didn’t think I’d be gone that long, but I’ll tell you everything later.”
“What’s the problem?” Roman asked.
“I smell my mate.”
Both Blake and Roman’s eyebrows rose.
“Mate?” Roman said.
“Yes. She’s here or has been here recently,” Hunter said.
Blake and Roman looked at each other and burst into laughter.
Simone tugged on his shirt. “What’s going on?”
“It seems Roman’s brother Hunter is Nicole’s mate, and he wants to know where she is.”
