“Get on with it. I want to get my drink on!”
“You aren’t drinking. You’re still breastfeeding,” Rowan grumbles.
“Ha! Joke’s on you. I pumped today.”
There’s rustling in the trees as they leave us alone. Or, I assume alone, who knows who else is out here.
“Is there anyone else out here?” I ask to make sure.
“No,” Raven answers.
“You weren’t supposed to answer,” Ruby scolds. “Now she knows we’re here.”
“Oh, I’ll be quiet now.”
Cedar sighs. “They’re never going to leave us alone.”
“You’re going to ask me to move in with you?”
“I know the tiny house is small, but we can make it work. We can add on when we have kids. Or I’ll build us a house. I’m flexible.”
My eyes practically bug out of my head. “K-k-kids?”
“Or not have kids. Whatever you want.”
I’m barely ready for the l-word. Kids is not a discussion I’m prepared to have. “We’re tabling the kids talk.”
“Not a problem.”
“You want to live together?”
“Of course. I love you. You love me. I want to spend the rest of my days with you.”
“This is awful quick.”
“Princess, when you know, you know.”
I stare into his eyes and all I see is sincerity and love. Crap. I’m going to do this, aren’t I?
“Okay,” I whisper.
“What did she say? I didn’t hear her,” Raven whisper-shouts.
“You’re a sucky spy,” Ruby mumbles before raising her voice. “We’re going now. You have five minutes to have sexy times before the invasion begins.”
“Five minutes? Who can have sexy times in five minutes?” I need way more than five minutes to enjoy Cedar’s naked body.
“When you have five children, you figure it out.”
Cedar is laughing as his lips find mine. I can practically feel the happiness radiating from him. Or maybe it’s mine. My heart is about to burst from it.
All too soon he pulls away. “We better get back to our party before someone else comes out here searching for us.”
I hate how he’s not wrong. “Later?”
“Later I’m going to worship your body until you scream my name.”
“Promises. Promises,” I tease as we walk back to his yard.
