“Mr. & Mrs. Kind, please step onto the dance floor for your first dance as husband and wife,” the DJ announced.

I grabbed Georgia’s hand and stopped before we stepped onto the dance floor.

“I need to tell you something before we dance.”

“Okay. What?” She smiled.

“I changed our wedding song. Don’t say a word. Just go with it.” I smiled as I led her onto the dance floor.

“I can’t believe—” She paused when she heard the first word, and a bright smile crossed her lips while tears swelled in her eyes.

“Are you mad?” I pulled her close to me.

“Not at all.” She kissed my lips.

CHAPTER37

Conner

I was sweating bullets and letting my nerves get the best of me. I never dreamed that I would one day propose to someone. I glanced over at Charlotte as she watched Jackson and Georgia dance with a smile on her face.

“You almost ready?” Christian walked over and hooked his arm around me.

“I think so. She’s going to say yes, right?”

“Yes.” He lightly tapped the back of my head. “Stop being dumb. I love you, brother. You can do this.”

“I know I can do it. I’m just worried about screwing it up.”

“You won’t. We Kinds don’t screw up. Remember that.” He pulled my head to his lips.

“What a beautiful dance,” Charlotte said. “What’s going on over here?” Her brow arched.

“Just some brotherly love, Charlotte.” Christian smiled.

“Will Conner & Charlotte step onto the dancefloor!” the DJ announced.

“I guess it’s our turn.” I smiled as I grabbed Charlotte’s hand, andDream a Little Dream of Mebegan to play. “Do you remember this song?”

“Of course.” She smiled. “It’s the presumptuous song you played on our first date.”

“And the song that got me into your bed.” I smirked.

“Ah, that too.”

As the song was coming to an end, I kissed her soft lips. It was now or never. Reaching into my pocket, I pulled out the ring box, got down on one knee, and grabbed hold of her hand.

“Charlotte—”

“Oh, my God. Yes! Yes, Conner. I’ll marry you.” She interrupted me.

“Babe, I haven’t asked you yet.”

“Sorry.” She placed her hand over her mouth. “Go ahead.”

I cleared my throat. “Charlotte, you are the most—”

“Oh, my God. Just ask already. I don’t need to hear the other stuff.”
