“Come on, Ella. We have to go home.” Sofia smiled as she stepped into the kitchen.
“Uncle Jackson?” Ella cocked her head.
“I’ll talk to your dad.” I sighed as I picked her up from the island.
“You’re the best.” She hugged me.
“So are you, little one.” I set her down.
“I’m going home to study,” she said as she flew out the sliding door.
“Let me guess. She wants to watch you perform surgery,” Sofia spoke.
“Yep, and you know how Nathan feels about that.”
“I know, and I don’t see the harm. She’s such a gifted child, but I think Nathan’s problem is her actually seeing it in real life. I’m not sure he thinks she can handle it.”
“There’s only one way to find out. I’ll speak to him. Between Conner, Christian, and I, maybe we can talk him into it. I’ll talk to Charlotte as well and get her thoughts.”
“Sounds good.” She reached up and kissed my cheek. “I’ll talk to you later.”
CHAPTER5
Jackson
I turned off all the lights and went upstairs. Walking into the bedroom, Georgia was on the phone.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” she spoke as she ended the call.
“Who was that?” I asked as I pulled my shirt off.
“Jenni.” She smiled.
“Oh yeah. What did she want?” I walked into the bathroom.
“She needs to make an appointment to come and see me at the medical center. And don’t act like you don’t know. She already told me she ran into you at the drugstore.”
The corners of my mouth curved upward as I walked back into the bedroom and took off my pants.
“Was the test positive?” I asked.
“Yes.” A big grin crossed her face.
“Excellent news. Shaun is going to be thrilled.” I climbed on top of her and brushed my lips against hers. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
As I went to climb off of her, she grabbed my arm.
“Where do you think you’re going, Dr. Kind?”
I stared into her beautiful eyes as a smile crossed my lips. “Are you feeling up to it?”
“Yes, of course. You’re all the medicine I need.” She wrapped her arms around my neck.
I leaned down and brought my lips to hers for a passionate kiss as my hand roamed down the front of her pants, and I dipped a finger inside.
“You’re so wet, babe,” I moaned.
