“Yes, Shaun.” I gave him a sympathetic smile and placed my hand on his arm. “You need to remember that Jenni’s miscarriage had nothing to do with her or the baby. It was from the accident.”

“I know.” He looked down. “I don’t think either one of us could go through that again.”

“I know.” I gripped his arm.

“I’m starving, babe.” Jenni walked over. “Can we go eat?”

“Of course.” He hooked his arm around her and kissed the side of her head.

“When will you two tell the rest of the family?” I smiled.

“Well, Jackson and Julia already know, which means Sam does too. So, we better have everyone over tonight and announce it,” Jenni said. “In an ideal family, we would wait until I was at least twelve weeks, but news in the Kind family spreads like wildfire. Besides, I know Shaun is dying to let his brothers and cousins know he’s going to be a dad.” She grinned. “And I’m sure he’ll slip if we wait.”

“Yeah. I probably will.” He smiled.

“Our house tonight at six-thirty. We’ll order pizza and subs and make our grand announcement.” A bright smile crossed Jenni’s face.

“No. Let’s have it at our house. That way, nobody will be suspicious.”

“That’s so sweet of you, Georgia, but you’re not—”

“I’m feeling fine, Jenni. Then I can ask all the girls to be my bridesmaids tonight after your big announcement.”

“Are you sure? Have you and Jackson set a wedding date yet?”

“We’re discussing it.” I smiled. “So, it’s settled. Our house at six-thirty. I’ll send out a group text.”

“At least let Shaun and I bring the food,” Jenni said.

“Nope.” I shook my head. “I’ll take care of everything. You two go celebrate your big news.”

“I love you.” Jenni hugged me.

“I love you, too.”

“I love you, too, Georgia.” Shaun hugged me. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome. Go. Get out of here before a family member sees you and starts asking questions.” A smirk crossed my lips.

They went out the back, and I walked to Jackson’s practice.

“Well, hello there, Ella.” I grinned as she sat behind the desk. “Where’s June?”

“She ran to the bathroom. Is there something I can help you with, Dr. Scott?” She folded her hands.

A wide grin crossed my face at her cuteness. “Is Dr. Kind with a patient?”

“You’ll have to be a little more specific. There are three Dr. Kinds in this office.”

I laughed. “Your Uncle Jackson.”

“He’s in his office, but he does have a patient in about ten minutes.”

“Thank you, Miss Kind.” I gave her a smile and a wink as I headed to Jackson’s office. I lightly knocked on his door before opening it and stepping inside.

“Hey, babe.” The corners of his mouth curved upward.

“Hey, yourself, handsome. We’re having a family party tonight.”
