“Four Kinds.” She smiled.
“Listen to this. The weirdest thing happened.”
“What happened?”
“I met another Dr. Kind,” I said.
“Huh?” Her brows furrowed.
“I met him in the ER here at Mass General. His name is Dr. Grayson Kind, and he’s a trauma surgeon. He asked if we were related. I asked him if his father’s name was Henry or Liam, and he said no.”
“Oh, my God. You must have been having anxiety.” She laughed.
“I won’t lie. I was.”
“Well, Kind is a common surname,” she said.
“Is it? Because I’ve never met anyone outside my family with that last name.” I arched my brow.
“How old is he?” Georgia asked.
“Young. I’d say maybe early thirties.”
“Early thirties, and he’s a trauma surgeon?” Her brows furrowed.
“He could be a resident for all I know. Our conversation was very brief.”
“You’re not thinking anything, Jackson. Are you?”
“No.” I chuckled. “Not at all. As you said, Kind is a common surname, and I’d just met one.”
“Good. Because if his father isn’t Henry or Liam, he’s not related to you. I hate to hang up, but I just heard Charleigh, Sofia, and Charlotte walk in. We’re driving together to the restaurant.”
“Okay. Have fun. I love you. You better call me when you get home. I don’t care what time it is. Do you understand me?”
“Yes, sir.” She smiled. “I love you.” She kissed the phone screen.
“Love you too. Bye, babe.”
I threw on a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. Sitting on the bed, I picked up my laptop and did a group Facetime with my brothers and my cousins. Surprisingly, everyone but Sebastian answered.
“Hey, bro.” Conner grinned. “How’s the conference going?”
“Good.”
“Why are you Facetiming all of us at the same time?” Simon asked as he walked into his house.
“Because I miss all you douchebags and your fucking sunshine smiles.”
“Shut the hell up.” Nathan laughed.
“I only have a few minutes,” Christian spoke. “I have a surgery I have to get into.”
“I just wanted to tell you that I met someone at Mass General today.”
“Who?” Nathan asked.
“A trauma surgeon named Dr. Grayson Kind.”
