She walked out of the bathroom, and I sighed as I finished shaving.

“Good morning, Jackson.” June smiled as I stepped through the door.
“Morning, June. I’m going to grab a cup of coffee. Can I get you one?”
“Thank you, but I’m good.”
“When is my first patient coming in?” I asked.
“In half an hour.”
“Good. I’ll be in the kitchen if anything comes up.”
I walked into the kitchen and found Conner and Nathan leaning against the island, talking.
“Good morning, bro.” Conner smiled.
“Morning, you two.” I grabbed a cup from the cabinet.
“How are things with you and Georgia?” Nathan asked.
“I told her this morning that I would respect any decision she makes.” I sighed.
“What? Why the hell would you do that?” Conner asked.
“Because she was sobbing uncontrollably this morning.”
“I just don’t understand her.” Nathan brought his cup to his lips.
“Me either.” I shook my head.
“Good morning.” Charlotte grinned as she walked in.
“Hey, baby.” Conner smiled.
“Hi, Charlotte.” I took a sip of my coffee.
“Jackson, I want to see you in my office.” She pointed at me before opening the refrigerator.
“Why?” I furrowed my brows.
“We have some talking to do.” She grabbed an apple and looked at her watch. “My first patient canceled, so I’m free now.”
“I have a patient in about twenty minutes.”
“Okay. Then make some time later.” She walked out.
“Jackson,” June spoke as she walked in. “Your patient had to reschedule. There was some family emergency.”
“Thanks, June.”
“Welp.” Conner patted my back. “You better go see Charlotte.” He grinned.
“Good luck, bro.” Nathan laughed.
Shaking my head, I walked out of the kitchen and down to Charlotte’s office. Opening the door, I stepped inside.
