He stared at me for a moment and hesitated.

“Giuseppe, Jackson is a doctor. It’s okay. If something is going on, he can help you,” Georgia said.

“It started about a month ago and seems to be getting worse.”

“Any other symptoms?” I asked.

“No. Not that I’ve noticed.”

“Are you driving?”

“Yes, of course. Why?”

I looked at Georgia.

“Giuseppe, I need you to listen to me very carefully. I’m a neurosurgeon and want you to go to the ER right now.”

“Dr. Kind, that is not—”

“Yes, Giuseppe. It is. In fact, I’m going to drive you there myself. You need to have an MRI done immediately. Do you have any family?”

“My brother and his wife.” His brows furrowed.

“You can call him on the way. Grab your things, lock up, and let’s go.”

“But, Dr.—”

“No buts, Giuseppe. Let’s go. You cannot get behind the wheel of a car until I check you out,” I sternly spoke.

“Jackson means it’s unsafe for you to drive right now.” Georgia placed her hand on his shoulder. “We would feel horrible if something happened to you while you were driving.”

“Okay.” He nodded.

When we arrived at the ER, I walked him back to where the rooms were.

“Excuse me, Dr. Kind, what—” one of the nurses spoke.

“This is my patient, and he needs immediate attention. You can get his information in a minute. I want routine labs done and an MRI STAT. Understand me?”

“Yes, Dr. Kind.”

“Hey. I thought I saw you two.” Charleigh smiled as she stepped inside the room. “Who’s this?”

“This is Giuseppe. He’s our flower guy for the wedding,” Georgia said.

“Oh.” Her brows furrowed. “Is he okay?”

“That’s what we’re going to find out,” I said.

“Dr. Kind, the MRI is available right now,” the nurse spoke.

“Let’s go.” I unlocked the bed and wheeled Giuseppe up to the MRI room.

I left him in the hands of the technician and went inside the control room. Taking a seat in front of the monitors, Christian walked in.

“Hey, bro. Charleigh said you were here. “What’s going on?”

“Georgia and I were meeting with this guy about the flowers for the wedding, and he was displaying odd behavior. His spatial distancing is off, and so is his coordination.”
