“I’m discharging Ian from the hospital in the morning. There’s no sense in him staying there until I figure out what I’m going to do.”

“You can’t let Aunt Barb force you into something that’s incredibly dangerous. That’s not fair to you or to Ian.”

“I know, but Barb is right. We don’t turn our back on our family.”

“I know that, but if it’s going to cause more damage, what kind of life is that for him? Maybe we should have Charlotte talk to her.”

I chuckled. “She doesn’t listen to anyone and certainly won’t listen to Charlotte.”

“I have some notes to look over, so I’m heading up to bed. Will you be up soon?”

“Yeah.” I smiled as I kissed her.

I sighed as I brought the glass to my lips. Pulling up some medical journals online, I ran across an article by Dr. Jamieson Finn. Damn. Why didn’t I think of him sooner?”

Picking up my phone, I dialed his number.

“Dr. Finn,” he answered.

“Jamieson, it’s Jackson.”

“Hey, Jackson. What’s up, my friend?”

“We need to meet. I need your help.”

“Say no more. Just name the time and place,” he spoke.

“The sooner, the better. How about dinner at my house tomorrow night, say around six-thirty? And please bring the family.”

“Six-thirty is perfect. Unfortunately, Grace and the kids won’t be able to come. She’s taking them to a friend’s get-together.”

“That’s too bad. Thanks, Jamieson. I appreciate it.”

“No problem, Jackson. I’ll see you tomorrow night.”

I finished my drink and headed upstairs.

“Jamieson Finn is coming over for dinner tomorrow night,” I said as I unbuttoned my shirt.

“Dr. Jamieson Finn? Why?”

“I need his help with Ian’s tumor. I’m hoping he has some solution, maybe something I’m not seeing. If he says nothing can be done, then I know nothing can be done.”

“Is Grace coming too?” Georgia asked.

“No. She’s taking the kids to a friend’s get-together.” I climbed into bed.

Georgia closed her laptop and snuggled against me.

“Do you want me to cook something, or do you want Sebastian to help out?”

“There won’t be any time for you to cook.” I reached over and grabbed my phone from the nightstand. “I’ll text Sebastian now.”

“Hey, cousin. Dr. Jamieson Finn is coming over tomorrow night for dinner to discuss Uncle Ian’s tumor problem. Can you whip something up for us?” Neither Georgia nor I have time to cook anything.”

“Sure thing. What time is he coming over?”

“Six-thirty.”
