“I bet. Poor girl.”

“This is the first guy she’s given a chance to since her last boyfriend back in college. She actually said she thought Joe was the one.”

“Seriously? How long have they been dating?”

“Four months. It’s weird because she’s never said that about anyone before.”

“Do you need me to go with you and rough him up a bit?” I smirked.

“No, tough guy.” She kissed my lips and snuggled against me. “If anyone is going to rough him up, it’s going to be me. That stupid fucker. I can’t believe him.”

“How did she find out?” I asked.

“She was having dinner with one of her friends from the hospital at one of the restaurants inside the St. Regis Hotel and saw them get on the elevator. After convincing the receptionist that she was his wife and had lost her room key, she finally gave her one, and she went up and opened the door. The rest is history.”

“It was meant to be.” I sighed. “Better she found out now.”

“I know.” She pressed her lips against my chest. “You don’t mind that I’m going, right?”

“No, of course not. She needs you. I’ll miss you, though.”

“I’ll miss you too, babe. I’m tired.” She let out a yawn.

“Go to sleep, my queen.” I kissed the top of her head.

The doorbell rang when I stepped through the sliding door after returning from Nathan’s house. Opening it, I stood there in shock as Grayson and Gabriel stood before me.

“Hi, Jackson,” Grayson spoke.

I stared at both of them for a moment and saw the anguish on their faces.

“Come here.” I pulled Grayson into me. Turning to Gabriel, I hugged him. “Come in. I didn’t know you guys were coming to Los Angeles so quickly.”

“I’m sorry. We probably should have called you first,” Grayson spoke.

“No. It’s great to see both of you.”

“Jackson, who was at—” Georgia stopped halfway down the stairs when she saw Grayson and Gabriel standing there.

“Georgia, this is Grayson and Gabriel Kind, my cousins.” I smiled. “Grayson, Gabriel, I’d like you to meet my beautiful fiancée, Dr. Georgia Scott.”

“Oh my gosh. It’s so good to meet the two of you.” She walked over and gave them each a hug.

“It’s nice to meet you too, Georgia.” Gabriel and Grayson smiled.

“I’ll leave you three to talk.” She went back upstairs.

I walked over to the bar and grabbed the bottle of scotch. “It’s not too early, right?” A smirk crossed my lips.

“Nah. It’s five o’clock somewhere.” Grayson smiled.

“When did you guys get in?”

“Yesterday. We spent the entire day with our dad and Barb. He told us everything.” Gabriel swallowed hard.

“I can’t believe we have this big family we never knew about.” Grayson shook his head.
