I handed them each a glass of scotch and placed my hand on Grayson’s shoulder.

“It’ll take some time, but everything will be okay.”

“Jackson, I have to tell you that I don’t think it’s a good idea to try and remove his tumor,” Gabriel spoke.

“I agree, but it’s what he wants, and Dr. Finn and I will do everything possible to make sure he pulls through it.”

“I agree that he couldn’t be in any better hands than you and Dr. Finn,” Grayson said. “But we’re pissed as hell at him. He lied to us our entire life about everything. About family, himself, our mother.” Tears formed in his eyes. “I haven’t forgiven him yet, and I need you to make sure he pulls through that surgery.”

“I’ll do everything possible.”

“We’ll be up in the operating suite,” Gabriel said.

“I hoped you would be. How about I call my brothers over, and you can meet them? If you stick around for a while, you can meet the rest of your cousins later.”

“Sure. We’d like that,” Grayson spoke.

I pulled my phone from my pocket and sent a message to my brothers in our group chat.

“I need you guys to come over asap and meet our cousins.”

Within seconds, the sliding door opened, and my brothers walked in.

“Grayson and Gabriel, these are my brothers. Conner, his twin, Christian, and our baby brother, Nathan.”

“Wow. It’s so good to meet you. Welcome to the family, cousins.” Conner grinned as he hugged them both.

After Christian and Nathan took their turn, we all sat in the living room.

“Look at that.” Georgia smiled as she walked down the stairs. “A room full of Kind doctors.”

“Damn right, Georgia sunshine.” Conner smiled. “And each with a different specialty.”

After we talked for a while, Nathan, Christian, and Conner left and said they’d see us down at the beach.

“Are you two ready to meet the rest of the family?” I asked. “We’re meeting down at the beach.”

“Why?” Gabriel asked.

“It’s what we do every weekend and occasionally during the week. We’re a very tight-knit family. They may be our cousins, but they’re more our brothers, and as you get to know them, you’ll feel the same way.”

I walked to the refrigerator, grabbed a six-pack of beer, my guitar case, and the three of us headed down to the beach.

“You play?” Grayson asked.

“Yeah. We all do.”

“So do Gabriel and me.” The corners of his mouth curved upward.

“Damn. You already fit in.” I smiled.

All eyes were on us as we approached the bonfire.

CHAPTER27

Jackson

“Everyone, I’d like you to meet our cousins, Drs. Grayson and Gabriel Kind. This is Sam, Sebastian, Shaun, Stefan, and Simon. You better be nice,” I whispered in Simon’s ear as I took the seat next to him.
