“What is?” I asked.

“Seeing Grandma Barb with someone other than Grandpa Curtis. She was just with Ian, and now she’s with Henry. She doesn’t like to be alone.”

“Did she tell you that?” Sofia asked.

“No. But I can tell.”

“Is this guy rich?” Jenni asked her.

“I think so. They were talking about their trip to Cabo.”

“Cabo?” I cocked my head. “When are they going?”

“The day after the wedding.”

Jenni’s jaw dropped, and Sofia’s eyes widened.

“I need to get home,” I said as I grabbed my purse and hugged the girls. “I’ll see you later.”

I pulled into the driveway and saw Jackson’s car. Opening the front door, I yelled for him.

“Hey, babe.” He smiled as he walked into the kitchen.

“Cancel the trip to Cabo,” I said. “Now, Jackson. Cancel it.”

“What? Why?” His brows furrowed.

“Aunt Barb and her new man will be there at the same time we are. I’m sorry, Jackson, but I’m not spending our honeymoon with your aunt.”

“What are you talking about? How do you know this?”

“Ella told me. She said they were leaving the day after the wedding. Cancel the trip. We’ll go somewhere else.”

“Shit.” He inhaled a breath as he placed his hands on his hips. “She probably doesn’t know we’re going there for our honeymoon.”

“It doesn’t matter if she knows or not. I want it to be just us and no one else from your family.”

“We’re getting married in less than a week, babe,” he said.

“I don’t care if we’re getting married tomorrow! Cancel the damn reservation, Jackson.”

“Okay.” He walked over and gripped my hips. “Where do you want to go?”

“I don’t care. You’re in charge of the honeymoon. You decide.” I reached up and kissed his lips. “I have patient notes to review before tomorrow.”

“Okay. I’ll cancel the Cabo trip.”

As I began to walk away, he grabbed my arm.

“I really wanted to spend our honeymoon where we met,” he said.

“If you really want to, fine.” I sighed. “I mean, you know how Aunt Barb has no boundaries, and she’ll think it’s perfectly okay to hang with us every day. We’ll spend more time trying to figure out ways to dodge her and Henry, and we’ll always be looking over our shoulder.”

“Yeah. You’re right. I’m canceling right now.”

“Good boy.” I grinned as I walked away.
