He laughed. “Sparkles, you’re not the only one who’s been doing some thinking.”

Curious, she pulled back and looked into his eyes.

“You first,” he said.

She took a breath and before she could talk herself out of it, told him all the things that had gone through her head. “I think you should park your truck in front of the shop for a little while,” she said quickly before she could change her mind. “I mean, it’s already there, of course. And yes, I didn’t love it out front at first, but yesterday was…well, it worked. And I really enjoyed…well…maybe if instead of traveling around, you just stayed in Glacier Falls for a little bit longer than we…well…I don’t want to…”

She stopped and took a deep breath.

“Are you done?”

She shook her head, because she wasn’t done. She needed him to know one more thing. “I really like you, Scott.”

His smile slowly crept over his face until he was beaming. “I really like you, too, Sparkles. I think that much is clear.”

It was. It very much was.

“You’ve been thinking, too?”

He nodded. “I’ve done little else since I met you at Mountain Mania,” he confessed. “But I have to say, even with all my thinking and daydreaming, I never could have imagined how good the reality would turn out to be.”

His openness was one of the things she liked about him so much. From the first time they’d met, he was so open and honest about everything.

“Full confession time,” he continued. “The only reason I started the food truck was because of you.”

“Me?”

He nodded. “Obviously, I wanted to find you again and see if the connection we shared at the fair was real.” He shrugged. “I think it’s safe to say it is.” She laughed, but he wasn’t done. “But it was more than that,” Scott said. “Meeting you made me realize that as much as I love living in Cedar Springs and running my cafe, it wasn’t enough. I was missing something.”

“Me?” she teased.

But he nodded. “Maybe itwasyou, Sparkles. Maybe it’s always been you.”

His hands cupped her face. He kissed her deeply, and as Georgia melted into the kiss, she let herself fall. Nobody knew what the future would bring, but the one thing she knew for sure was her grandmother was both rightandwrong. She’d said there were no second chances, but here it was. Her second chance with Scott was right in front of her. And this time, she wasn’t going to run because right now, with him, she was happy. And that was all she could ever ask for.
