Pain fills her expression with agony twisting all around her beautiful features. Yet what scares me the most is her voice growing firmer. "Promise me you'll respect my wishes, Riggs. If you can't, I'll tell Ears to kick you out for good and ask Noah to take over."

It's a kick to my gut. The thought of her choosing Noah over me for anything makes me feel ill. And her expression screams that she's not bluffing. So I finally cave. "Okay. I promise."

Over my dead body.

She swallows hard and nods. "Thank you for agreeing."

I hesitate, then reach for her, tugging her back into me. I press my lips to hers before she can escape. She pushes on my chest, but it doesn't last long. After a few seconds, she slides her hands through my hair and returns my affection.

For a split second, everything feels right between us. I murmur, "I regret every moment of our time together when I wouldn't allow you to kiss me. And every moment that I wanted to kiss you but didn't."

She freezes, then retreats. "We shouldn't be doing this."

"Why? You're my wife," I remind her.

She pushes my chest. "This doesn't solve our issues, Riggs. You can be involved in my security, but that's it. I'm not going to promise you anything regarding the future."

It destroys the spark of hope that just ignited within me.

She continues staring at me, then demands, "Release me now."

"I can't. No matter what you think, I love you and always will. So I can't just release you."

To my surprise, a tiny smile plays on her lips. "If you don't release me, I can't tell Noah to add you back to my schedule and that you're in charge of my security and not him."

It's possibly the only thing she could say to make me contemplate releasing her. To my surprise, I chuckle, muttering, "And you claim I'm the evil one."

She bats her eyes, making my dick hard. I haven't seen her do that in over a week, and I've missed it. She declares, "I'm only giving you what you want."

"I want you back home with me," I proclaim.

Her face falls. She closes her eyes, whispering, "I can't. Don't make this harder for me."

I debate with myself, not wanting to let her go, but I finally remove my arms from around her. The emptiness resumes. I force myself to open the door and motion for her to step through.

She goes down the hall, and I follow her into the recording box. As soon as we step inside, the room turns silent. The musicians, tech people, Noah, and Ears turn toward us.

Noah rises, stepping toward Blakely. He grabs her hand. "Are you okay?"

I push him away. "Do not touch my wife."

Ears steps between us. "Riggs, settle down."

I step back and hold my hands in the air. "That's fine, for now. But he's not to touch my wife. Nothing has changed. Or I'll invoke the clause in his contract."

Blakely tilts her head. "What clause?"

I keep my gaze pinned on Noah, admitting, "The clause so you can get a new agent."

"Riggs, I don't need a new agent. Will you be able to control yourself in this situation, or do I have to make a different decision?"

I want to kill Noah and wipe the cocky look off his face. All it would take is one of my fists connecting with his haughty expression.

She asserts, "Look at me, Riggs."

I slowly obey.

She arches her eyebrows. "Well?"
