“How do you know that he’s living with her?” Blaze asked. He was having trouble believing that Blair could have moved on so easily, but she did admit that she wasn’t into him the way that he was her. Maybe it was easy for her to move on without him.

“Because I overheard her telling him not to wait up for her and that she’d see him at home. I’m guessing that means that they’re living together,” Joker said.

“Shit,” Blaze grumbled.

“I’m sorry to be the one to tell you all of this, man, but I thought you should know. Blair has moved on, and maybe you should too,” Joker said.

“Maybe I should,” Blaze agreed. He just wondered how he’d be able to do it. Moving on wasn’t something that his heart was in because he was still in love with the woman from his past. Blair held his heart, and Blaze had a feeling that wasn’t going to change any time soon.

He spent the rest of the night sitting at the bar sulking, watching Blair wait on the guys, and trying to figure out who she was shacking up with. Could it be one of his brothers? No, none of them were on crutches and Joker said that the guy had a broken leg. None of the guys seemed to fit that description and he was beginning to think that Blair had picked up some random guy and was living with him.

The longer he sat there, the madder he got until he finally gave up sulking and decided to flat-out ask Blair about her new roommate. Sure, he might be overstepping his place, but he just didn’t give a fuck anymore.

“Hey, you have a minute?” he asked as she breezed by where he sat.

“Sure, you want another beer?” she asked. He had already had too many. He was going to have to get one of the guys to drive him home and that wasn’t a good look when he was trying to win back his woman.

“No, I’ve already passed my limit,” he said.

Blair sighed, “Yeah, I wasn’t going to say anything, but you’re not going to drive, right?” she asked.

“No, I’m not going to drive,” he said. “I’ll catch a ride home with one of the guys.” Disappointment flashed in her blue eyes, and he wondered what that was all about.

“What can I do for you if you don’t want a beer?” she asked.

“Um, it might not be my business, but Joker said that you’re shacking up with some new guy. I’m just checking in to make sure that you’re okay and all.” He was more than checking in—he was being nosey. He just hoped that Blair didn’t see it that way.

“I’m fine,” she said, “and it’s not like that.”

“You’re not living with some guy?” Blaze asked.

“Well, yeah, I am,” Blair said. “Maybe we shouldn’t talk about this.”

“Talk about what? The fact that we’ve only been broken up for a short time and you’re already living with some guy? I asked you to move in with me, but I guess I just wasn’t what you wanted.”

“Blaze,” she said, reaching for his arm. He quickly pulled it free from her hand, knowing that just one touch from her would set his heart racing. “Don’t be like that,” she hissed.

“Like what?” he asked. “Do you mean that I shouldn’t be pissed that you’ve moved on or that you found someone to live with already? Did you know this guy while we were together?” he asked. Maybe he didn’t want to know the answer to that question. Maybe he shouldn’t have asked, but the question was already out of his mouth.

“Yes, I’ve known him even longer than I’ve known you, Blaze,” she spat. She wasn’t giving him very much to go on. Blair simply answered his questions and that was getting him nowhere.

“You were just dying to break up with me so that you could get together with him, weren’t you?” Blaze asked. He was drunk and saying all the wrong things, but he just couldn’t seem to help himself.

“You’re an ass, Blaze,” she spat. “I can’t do this with you right now. I have to close the bar and you need to find a ride home.”

He quickly looked around the place, realizing that his options for a ride home were pretty much nonexistent. Besides Joker, and probably Ryker, they were the only two people left at the bar. “I’ll have to call an Uber,” he said. There was no way that he’d ride on the back of Joker or Ryker’s bikes like a little bitch. He’d rather walk home first.

“Did you ride your bike here?” she asked.

“Yeah,” he breathed. “And I’m betting that all of the guys who drove their pick-up here tonight are gone.”

“Yeah, Ryker and Joker both are on bikes tonight. I have my car,” she offered.

“No, but thanks for the offer. I’m sure that you’ll need to be getting home to your new guy. He probably wouldn’t want you driving me home, since I’m out of your way.”

“Ass,” she breathed under her breath. “You won’t get an Uber out here at this time of night,” she said. “I’ll drive you home, but you’re going to have to wait for me to close the bar.”
