I don’t know enough about real estate to even guess what architectural style his house is, but the property appears to be at least a hundred years old. It’s three stories, cream and brown on the outside, and has lots of perfectly manicured landscaping.

“I heard his dad and stepmom are both loaded.” I shrug as we make our way up the couple of steps and ring the bell.

The hum of people gallivanting behind the door can be heard, and not a minute passes before Brady swings the door open. He’s wearing aTop Gunflight suit with a pair of Ray-Bans and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t look good on him.

“Hey, you ladies made it. Come on in.” He motions us inside where all kinds of people are milling about. Some I recognize and some I don’t.

“Great costume,” Bryce said, unable to stop herself from flirting.

Brady smooths the front of his jumpsuit with one hand. “Thanks. I’m living out a childhood dream in this one. You want to play the role of tag chaser later, Bryce?” He waggles his eyebrows.

She pats him on the chest. “Sorry, Brady, I’ll have to take a rain check on that one.”

He laughs good-naturedly and grabs his chest. “Direct hit.”

“That’s her specialty, isn’t it, Bryce?” Miles walks up and joins our group.

Bryce narrows her eyes and scoffs. “Careful, Miles, someone might think you care.”

I don’t miss the way Miles’s eyes zero in on Bryce’s cleavage when she removes her jacket.

“That’s a great costume too,” Brady says, motioning to Bryce.

“Yeah, seems appropriate. Are leopards the ones who hunt or is that lions?” Miles asks.

“Separate corners, you two.” I turn to Brady. “Is there somewhere we can put our jackets?”

“Sure, I can take them up to the spare bedroom for you.”

I wave him off then take Bryce’s. “I can do it. Just tell me where.”

He shrugs. “All right. Up the stairs, second door on the right.”

I nod. “Why don’t you get us some drinks?” I say to Bryce.

“Those you’ll find in the kitchen. C’mon, I’ll show you the way.” Brady shuts the front door and walks in front of Bryce.

The two of them push their way through the crowd as I look at Miles, dressed in hisAnchorman/Ron Burgundy costume. “Be nice.”

He looks as if he wants to say something simpler than what he eventually does. “Fine. I’ll try.”

I smile and reassuringly pat his shoulder. “Thank you.”

Brady’s home has old-world charm with extensive wood paneling and a wide wooden staircase past the large grand foyer, but all the furnishings I pass are very modern. It’s a nice mix.

I find the spare bedroom, where there’s already a massive pile of coats on the bed. That’ll make it difficult to find ours at the end of the night, so rather than adding to the pile, I set Bryce’s on the chair in the corner and remove my own.

“You wore that costume to drive me crazy, didn’t you?”

I whip around at the sound of Lee’s voice, and my eyes travel up and down his body. The Zorro costume must have been made just for him.

“Mmm, speaking of…” I walk over, taking a look behind him to make sure no one is in the hallway. “This costume of yours is very sexy. I love the mask. We might have to pull that out in the bedroom.”

Lee grins and pulls me into him. “As long as you promise to wear this for me.”

“Deal.”

I’m dressed as a sexy referee. All my bits and pieces are covered because I do work with most of the people here, but the entire outfit is made of Lycra and paired with some thigh-high socks and heels. I definitely don’t look like the refs these guys see on the field.
