“Yeah, no. Those Russian fucks aren’t coming home with us.” Koby sneers at Knight but doesn’t get a chance to reply, Allison swirls on Knight and pins him with a dirty look.

“You want intel on the Russian’s?” She doesn’t give him a chance to answer. “They are the key to helping your family take them down! Either they come with me or I’m staying right here and you can deal with King’s meltdown.” I snicker at that, I don’t fucking meltdown, ever!

“I’m calling Bishop,” Luka mutters before he turns and walks out.

* * *

Bishop took a lot more convincing than Luka had thought. He relented but Koby and Dimitri would have guards stationed on them at all times—they will not be able to roam freely or even take a shit without someone knowing. The car is shrouded in tense silence. Allison refused to sit up front with me and sits in the back with Koby and Dimitri. Knight is tense beside me and I can’t blame him, it has me on edge having the enemy behind me. I just want to get home and get Allison alone. I’m nervous at the fact of Mela seeing her. Allison hasn’t even asked me about her and that is unsettling me the most. Melawasher everything and it seems like now her priorities have… shifted.

We pull up to the front of the house and I turn in my seat to look at each of them. Dimitri has his gaze on his lap, Allison has his hand clasped in hers. Koby, she surprises me when I see her taking in her surroundings and documenting everything she sees. Something tells me there is more to this girl than meets the eye. She holds herself in a way that tells me she is used to being underestimated and will surprise you at every turn.

We pile out of the cars. I move toward Allison as she stands here and just stares up at the house. She shows no emotion. Dimitri clings to her arm like she is the thing grounding him. I need to find out who these people are and how they are linked to my girl. The front door opens and Bishop steps out with Mav beside him. His eyes scan over us with a detached look until he stops on Allison. For the briefest of seconds his eyes soften and relief shines in his eyes before he quickly masks it. He looks to the two Russian’s and his stare goes from unbothered to downright hostile. He says something to Mav before turning and marching back into the house. Mav indicates for us to follow him. I fight the eye roll, I know the drill. We take them into Bishop’s office, scare them and make it known that we are not to be fucked with and that we’ll kill them without losing sleep if they try to fuck us over.

Knight walks in and drops down in the chair in front of Bishop’s desk. Bish has his gaze fixed on the two Russian’s as we walk in. Mav and Luka lean against the wall as I stand beside Allison. The boy still clings to her and Koby stands on his other side. Bish shoots me a look and I know what he wants, I step away from Allison and move to stand beside Bishop behind his desk. We need to show these two that we are a united family and won’t tolerate shit… that they are only in here, in this house, because of Allison. If she is wrong in her judgment about these two it’s my head on the chopping block. I vouched for them because of her.

“Give me one good reason why I don’t put a bullet in each of your heads, right now?”

“Because, she saved me from getting raped… again.” Allison’s voice doesn’t waiver, she doesn’t drop her eyes from Bishop. She stands tall and owns her words. Bishop doesn’t show his surprise or remorse for what she has been through, he has enough respect for her to not even pity her.

“You think your opinion matters?”

“I thought it didn’t, then look where we are standing now. My opinion must hold some weight.” I fight to keep the smile from my face. Bishop leans back in his chair and stares at her. I know he can see the change in her as well.

“You think because you’re with my brother—”

“No, this has nothing to do with King and I, but it has everything to do with the factIam Amelia’s mother.”

Chapter21

Allison

Pride shines in King’s eyes. Knight peers over his shoulder and smirks but I don’t take my eyes off Bishop. King may be ruthless but Bishop is the one that calls the shots. If I am to keep true to my word, I need him to agree to allow Koby and Dimitri to stay. We don’t know each other well but Koby also doesn’t pity me. I see it in the three Murdoch’s brother’s gazes that they are trying to hide their pity. I don’t need their fucking pity, I need them to treat me like Koby does. She doesn’t beat around the bush or look at me like I’ll cry every minute of the day.

“Don’t over estimate yourself, Allison.” His tone is flat and unwavering. “You still haven’t given me a reason as to why they should remain breathing.” I feel King staring at me and I know if I meet his stare my hardened exterior will crumble. I turn to Koby but can see she isn’t about to say a damn thing and is leaving it all to me to keep them alive.

“Koby can help with your… Russian problem.” He leans forward and steeples his arms on his desk.

“What problem might that be?” His condescending tone grates on my fucking nerves.

“The problem of your territory being infiltrated and the last remaining two families working against you to take you down.” Bishop shoots his gaze to Koby, keeping the surprise from his face at her revelation. I know there iswaymore to Koby and Dimitri than they have shared but I haven’t pushed them for information and they haven’t asked me either. Our trust is built on our shared experience. Koby could have easily left me behind but she didn’t. A part of me feels like if she didn’t want to be there, she wouldn’t have been.

“I already knew that,” he snaps.

“She saved my life, Bishop. You have no fucking idea what it was like. You want to shoot her, then shoot me as well,” I rage, my anger is coursing through me.

“No!” King snaps but I ignore him and push on.

“I wouldn’t be standing here in front of all of you if it wasn’t for her—”

“We were coming for you. They would never have killed you!” I shake my head, Bishop doesn’t get it!

“It wasn’t them that were going to kill me,” I say barely above a whisper.

“What do you mean?” The uncertainty in King’s voice tells me already knows the answer but just wants me to say it aloud. I look at him as I deliver the blow that I know will rock him to his core.

“They stripped me bare, used me and broke me a part. I had nothing left.”

“You had me and Mela!” he shouts.
