“Come on, man. You think I don’t have people I know I can trust?”Cain rolled his eyes before he turned to settle his gaze on Missy.

She had calmed down considerably, and I could see the wheels whirling in her head as she tried to put things together. The four of us just stared at her, and Cain grabbed the chair his man had just vacated. He turned it so he sat on it backward and a cocky grin spread across his face.

“This is gonna get interesting,”he said.

Missy’s eyes went to each of us, as if she was trying to determine who she could manipulate. I knew her game too well by now, as did my brothers. We hadn’t discussed much about how to play this, making me wish we had some sort of plan. However, when Missy spoke, she set the wheels in motion without us needing to talk before.

“Aiden, baby. What is going on? You could have just called me if you wanted to see me.”She tried to bat her eyes at my brother, but the mascara smeared down her cheeks didn’t help her sexy act.

“Cut the shit, Missy.”Violence rolled off Aiden in waves and his voice was a blow Missy hadn’t been expecting.

“I…I don’t understand—“

Aiden cut her off with an air of authority.“All you need to understand right now is we could find you anywhere you hid, under any name you stayed under. This wasn’t hard, Missy. So, the next part won’t be hard either.”

I could see as she started to realize there was more going on and she caved into herself, trying to look sympathetic. Her fake tears and begging weren’t going to stop us from getting the information we needed. She had long ago burned any bridge to us that would have afforded her the sympathy she was looking for.

Cain looked up at us and then over to Missy, resolve on his face. He stood up and flicked out the blade of a knife. Missy’s eyes widened as she watched him pace around her and behind us, a tiger wanting out of his cage. I knew Cain had a dark streak in him. He had survived a long time in a world that had started to eat me alive. But for him, he had found a way to thrive. There was no way he did that without spilling blood whenever necessary.

“What’s the next part?”Missy’s lip quivered, and I thought some of it was real fear now.

“You telling us everything we want to know,”Gideon said.

Missy’s eyes flew to him. She immediately softened and all the stages of emotion crossed her face. I was sickened that we never figured this out while we were with her, until it was too late. Missy was a chameleon, changing her tactic to fit whoever she was trying to push. Gideon was a big man, barrel chested, dark with his thick beard and long hair. But he was the last one of us I would ever believe could put hands on a woman. Missy knew that, too.

“My muscle man, couldn’t you loosen up these ties? They’re cutting into me.”Missy blinked innocently up at him.

To Gideon’s credit, he didn’t even twitch. His gaze was hard on her and his lack of response to her caused annoyance to flash across Missy’s face. Cain continued to move around, flipping his knife around as if he was playing a carnival game and was just waiting his turn. When none of us moved to help her or speak, I saw as the facade on Missy’s face dropped. A sneer appeared onher face and she leaned back, pressing her surgically enhanced chest out.

“Then what? You guys couldn’t find a woman to fuck, so you had me kidnapped and wanted to play out a little role play? I’m down for it boys. I’ve missed you,”she said.

That was too much for Oliver and he stepped forward, his hand going up. Aiden flashed forward and grabbed him by the shoulder. I watched as they communicated through their eyes and Oliver stepped back, letting Aiden take the lead. It was just like Aiden to take the burden, especially from Oliver, after we almost lost him to Missy and the drugs in the first place.

“We will never touch you, let alone fuck you, Missy. Let’s stop with the games. Where is Brooklyn?”

The laugh that cackled out of Missy surprised me. Her head tilted back, and the sound rang and bounced off of the concrete walls. When she looked back at us, tears were streaming down her cheeks, a real emotion from her.

“This is about that blonde bitch? Are you kidding me?”Missy moved like she wanted to cross her legs, but she was quickly reminded that her ankles were secured with zip ties to the chair.

“Where is Brooklyn?”Aiden asked again, ignoring her.

She smirked at Aiden and a red flush rose up his cheeks, his fury boiling to a point that even I knew Missy needed to be worried. Sensing the change in the room, Cain stepped forward, his knife gripped in his right hand. Missy’s eyes flashed to him, wide with concern again. I had no idea if she remembered Cain from our younger years, but she knew enough that he was dangerous.

He stepped to her, running his left hand down her cheek, softly, almost in a caress. Moving to stand behind her, his hand suddenly gripped her chin roughly, yanking her head back. Asshe looked up at him, the cool metal of his knife kissed her throat and she squealed loudly and then started begging for help.

“This is how it’s going to go. No words will leave your whore mouth until they answer my boys’questions. Clear?”

Missy’s throat moved as she swallowed hard. She started to nod, but Cain shook his head slowly and gripped her chin harder, keeping her head right where he wanted it.

“What are you going to do? Cut my throat?”Her voice was nothing, but a hissed whisper.

Cain ran the point of his knife along her throat, up to an ear, before he bent close to her.

“I’ll start with this ear, then the other. I’ll leave your tongue for last, so you can scream the whole time. Maybe I’ll take a finger or two next, then that nose. It’s not the first time you’ve been under the knife, huh?”Cain broke into a smile at his own morbid joke.

“You wouldn’t,”she said.

“Wouldn’t I? You are nothing to me. And you wouldn’t be the first body I had to disappear. Do you want to find out how deep I bury them, Missy?”
