KANA

“Where have you been?” I asked Rush as he entered my rooms early the next morning, his vampire glamor fading to reveal that gorgeous forest green fae skin I loved so much.

He smirked as he arranged a breakfast tray, his eyes taking in the scene of Kassian sprawled face down on top of the covers. It was a nice view, I had to admit.

“Spying on everyone,” Rush said as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Although, for a fae who could glamor himself invisible, I supposed it was.

“Find anything useful?”

Rush only sighed and shook his head, looking bored.

“So... how do fae spy on each other?” I asked, suddenly curious. I sat up and stretched before snagging a piece of fruit.

He chuckled. “Just like some vampires are better with their mind control magic, some fae are much stronger at concealing their glamor. And I happen to have very strong blood,” he added. Then he immediately looked embarrassed he’d said anything when I sighed and slid my eyes over his artery, imagining how good his blood would taste right now.

I still craved it, even after all these weeks of knowing it would poison me. Or... would it?

“Wait a minute,” I said, sitting straight up in bed and eying Rush. “Cade’s mother drank gobbelin blood. That means he has it, and I drank from him. Not to mention all those years Merden...”

“And his blood alchemized the slaves’ blood,” Rush finished, a gleam in his eyes. “Do you really think you’re cured from the poison of my blood?”

“How would I even know?” I asked, shrugging. I hadn’t felt poisoned before, either. Maybe it was one more piece of intel about the gobbelins that was just wrong or exaggerated. “All I know is I’m forever craving a taste of you.”

“Just a taste?” he asked, already leaning closer as he stared down at my lips around the fruit like a man mesmerized.

“With a vampire, it’s never just a taste,” I murmured, crawling toward him across the bed. I knelt at the edge, tugging him closer to me and kissing him slowly. I’d always held back my natural vampire magnetism around him because I didn’t want to make us both more miserable, but now I let my fangs scrape dangerously close against his lips. He groaned and slipped a hand around my waist, tightening his fingers on my skin.

“Scan me,” I whispered. “See if you feel any sort of energy that feels like poison or anything gobbelin.”

“I... don’t know if I could tell,” he admitted, but I could feel the pleasant buzz of his magic zipping across my skin anyway.

“Let her taste you,” a voice said from the doorway, and I looked up to see Cade standing there, watching me again. “If you’re poisonous, then I’ll be here to save the day.”

I grinned at him, beckoning him closer with one finger. “I know watching isn’t all you’re good for, Acadian Landry.”

He smirked, prowling closer. As he moved, his unbuttoned shirt fell open, and I noted that his bruising was healing quickly. He looked stronger, too, and his skin already had a healthy glow.

“She can drink from me if you give her pleasure while she does it,” Rush bargained, and Cade laughed low in his chest. Without another word, he climbed onto the bed behind me, sliding his hands beneath my sleep tunic and running his thumbs over the swell of my breasts.

This was turning out to be the best idea I’d had in a while.

I lowered my mouth to Rush’s neck as Cade swept my hair over my shoulder and buried his fangs deep in my skin. I arched back into him for a moment of bliss, relishing the addictive pull of my blood into his mouth and the tightness of his fingers on my nipples.

And then I locked my eyes on Rush and pulled him to me, sinking my fangs into his neck as I ran my fingers over the pointed tips of his sensitive fae ears. He shuddered and gave a guttural moan at the sheer pleasure of it all, his knees buckling as he sagged into me against the bed.

“Well, fuck me. Why wasn’t I invited to the blood fest?” Kassian mumbled from behind us, inhaling deeply as the scent of energy fae blood bloomed around us. I could feel the mattress shift as he sat up and twisted his body to the side, getting a better view of the three of us. I reached a wrist to him, but he only kissed my palm.

“Let Cade,” he said, instead sliding his hands up my bare thighs and stroking lightly at my pussy beneath my underwear.

I steadied myself between Cade and Rush, feeling quite the opposite of poisoned as Kas rubbed me closer and closer to orgasm, and Rush’s rich, wild fae blood slid past my lips. Cade moved one hand up to grip my throat, squeezing just a promise harder than gentle, and my body shook as I came sweetly against Kassian’s fingers.

My head fell backward against Cade’s shoulder, and Rush staggered to the side, flopping down onto the bed in a daze. His eyes were huge and wide as he watched Cade suck me one final time before licking up the side of my neck.

“So fucking sweet,” Cade whispered into my ear, and I shivered when his hand tightened even more on my windpipe. Myaimawas back. Maybe not at one hundred percent strength, but so close.

“You seem to be ah... feeling better,” Kas remarked as Cade finally let go of me and sank back into the pillows, wiping the edge of his lips with the back of his hand. Cade gave him a cocky, lopsided smirk.

“Candy girl has sweet blood,” he said, giving that chin nod thing that boys do when they’re bragging.
