Half of the Bloody Claws had decided not to abide by my mates’ leadership. They had left the island altogether to seek a better life for themselves on the mainland. Oswaldo had been one of the ones to leave first but his choice had been obvious from the face he had made the moment Gabriel had proclaimed he and Esteban would become the Kings of the whole island.

Oswaldo hadn’t agreed with the idea of anybody ruling over him, especially not the people who had once been his wardens so he had left, taking his people with him. The rest of their sleuth had accepted Gabriel and Esteban and continued to live in their village.

Today was a special day though. Through the open window I heard loud voices from the garden below. Everyone was supposed to gather today for Gabriel, Esteban’s, and my mating ceremony.

There was so much to prepare that we ended up needing six months to organize the event. Today we would finally officially ask for the Goddess of Nature's blessing. Everyone wanted to witness this joyful event. Even the captain of the ship which had brought me to Isla Paraiso had promised to attend.

“And now, your wreath!” Hanny put a wreath of colorful flowers and feathers on my head. “Done! You’re ready to march down the aisle.”

“Thank you, Hanny.”

“Don’t mention it. Anything for my sister.” Hanny really did treat me as if I were her birth sister.

From the moment she had heard that Gabriel and Esteban had found their mate, and that it was me, she had acted as though we were attached at the hip. She had made me spill the beans about how the guys had ended up together. She had laughed hearing how I had given Gabriel the cold shoulder at first. She had said he deserved it for being a dude who thought with his dick and chased every pretty girl. She was glad that he had changed under my influence.

I had also told her about the quiet companionship I’d had with Esteban, and how he had worried I would push him away when I noticed his more violent tendencies. Hanny had nodded at my explanation. Esteban’s blood rage had always been a flaw he’d never liked about himself but nowadays, when he spent so much time around me and Gabriel, he was less prone to those rougher instincts. Esteban was much more relaxed and at ease.

“Are you ready to go?” Hanny put a hand on the door handle.

I took one last glance at myself in the big standing mirror. I looked gorgeous in the blue and pink flowing dress and the colorful wreath, with my hair shiny and my face delicately painted.

“You’re beautiful,” Gabriel’s sister chuckled.

“All thanks to you,” I complimented her.

“Yeah, yeah, but if you weren’t a beauty to begin with, no amount of make-up and pretty clothes would have made you as gorgeous as you are right now.” Hanny waved her hand around dramatically.

I laughed. I appreciated my friend’s honest opinion. “Thank you.”

“Alright, let’s go! They will get bored of waiting for you.” Hanny grabbed me by my hand and pulled me out into the corridor.

The hallways were empty; everyone was in the garden. When we walked out through the back door and rounded the corner, I gasped to see that indeed everyone had gathered to see the ceremony. There were two hundred people here, and as soon as somebody noticed I was coming they whispered the news to each other and turned around to face me with bright smiles.

My stomach flipped, and I was glad I hadn’t eaten anything. Such an excess of attention was more than I could handle. Then I noticed Gabriel and Esteban standing below the huge archway decorated with colorful flowers. I steeled my resolve. I would be strong for them. I wouldn’t mess up our important event by puking or swooning or whatever my body wanted to do!

Hanny pulled me until I stood at the end of the aisle that led up to the archway. She stepped aside, giving me an encouraging smile. Someone handed me a bouquet of fresh flowers.

“Time to go,” Hanny said in a soft and quiet tone, meant only for my ears.

I nodded and took a deep breath, relaxing my features. With a gentle smile I started walking towards my mates.

Someone turned on an elegant slow tune. I kept walking, though the way seemed so long. Gabriel and Esteban had noticed me already. They had stunned expressions on their faces, and their reactions gave me the boost of self-confidence I needed.

“You look amazing,” Gabriel sent the thought my way.

“Utterly gorgeous,” Esteban echoed.

“You two aren’t so shabby yourselves,” I chuckled.

“Only not shabby? Please, I’m the hottest man on the island,” Gabriel teased.

“You mean when everyone else leaves, right?” Esteban laughed at him.

Gabriel gave him a glare, and I couldn’t help laughing. Thankfully these responses happened only through our bond. “Calm down guys. Don’t ruin the ceremony.”

“We will behave,” Esteban said.

Finally I arrived at the archway and stopped in front of the guys. I finished the last few steps, taking my place between them.
