"What happens when they find her?" Grayson asked.

I shook my head, avoiding their eyes. "I don't know."

He nodded his head slowly.

"You're sure there's nothing else? Anything more that we can do?" Scarlett asked.

"I'm not sure what else to tell you. "

She sighed heavily and dropped her head down onto the wall behind her. She covered her face with her hands so I couldn't see anything but her shaking shoulders. A couple of tears fell from underneath her fingers before she began sobbing quietly. It was heartbreaking to watch. Her body trembled uncontrollably, which sent waves of pain shooting through my own.

"Hey," I whispered.

Her head snapped up towards me. The tears continued falling and she wiped them away on her sleeve.

"It's alright. We'll get out of this mess," I said.

I reached over and pulled her into my arms.

Her body relaxed as I held her, and her breathing slowed down. Grayson stood watching as I consoled her. The idea of him watching us made me nervous and a little excited.

"Scarlett, can I talk to Drako for a minute?" Grayson asked, "I promise I will behave myself."

Scarlett nodded her head. "Okay. I need to take a shower anyway but please don't fight."

"What are you going to do?" Grayson asked once Scarlett was out of the room.

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not sure, but there was a man at the door earlier who was asking for someone named Ruby. For some reason, I got the feeling that he was up to something but I'm not sure."

Grayson stared blankly at me for a second, "He asked for Ruby?"

"Yeah."

"Was he in a black suit?"

I looked at him surprised by his question.

"Yeah. How did you know?"

"This man that Scarlett met always wears a black suit. He asked for Ruby which is another word for red or Scarlett."

"I hope they didn't pick up on that one," I said, looking out of the window.

"Why would they? It's just a coincidence. You think that this person knows where she is now and might come back here to check?" Grayson asked.

"It's possible. I don't know about that man, but Damon and Doyle are determined to find out as much as they can about Scarlett. They don't have any information on her other than what we've been told so far."

Grayson nodded as if that made perfect sense. "We should be prepared."

"She doesn't deserve this," I mumbled under my breath.

Grayson turned towards me, "You're right. She definitely does not deserve this. We need to think about how we can get her out of here. There has to be a way to get her out of town safely."

"She's not going to leave. There is no way she is just going to walk away from her father."

"It's too dangerous for her here. I'm worried about what could happen to her if she stays here. They are too interested in her for it to be just because she is an outsider. They don't seem to have any interest in my whereabouts, and I would be a bigger threat to them than she is."
