"To success!" He exclaimed, "Let's hope we are able to keep it going."

We all clinked our glasses together and downed our drinks. The liquid burned as it went down my throat and warmed my entire body. I felt myself relax for the first time since we had arrived at Drako's house.

"I take it you didn't find anyone downstairs," I said after we'd finished.

"No. We should be safe here for now. I have plenty of food." He paused. "I'm not sure how long it will take them to figure me out though. I am almost positive that Doyle knows something is up. I'm not sure why he covered for me with Damon, but I am grateful

I shrugged. "I guess it doesn't matter anymore."

He shook his head. "It matters. This is far from over. We need to think about what happens next."

"We'll be fine," Scarlett said confidently.

He tilted his head to look at her. "Are you sure?"

She laughed. "Of course, I'm sure. Or maybe I'm just a little bit drunk."

I laughed along with her. "Well, whatever it is, I think we should probably rest for the night. We can come up with a plan in the morning."

Drako poured another round of drinks and handed them out. After we finished drinking, he gathered the empty glasses and took them downstairs.

I watched Scarlett as she stood up and walked to the window. She was more beautiful than I had ever seen. I got up from my chair and went to stand beside her.

"Look," she said quietly.

I followed her gaze outside. In the distance, we could see the city lights illuminating the darkness. Beyond that, the forest spread across the horizon.

"It's so pretty," she murmured.

"Yeah, it is," I replied.

She smiled at me. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure," I said, leaning against the window.

"Do you think we will find my father?"

"Of course, we will," Drako replied as we walked towards the window.

"I thought you said you didn't know where he was," I said.

"I don't but I bet I can figure it out."

"Where would he be?" she wondered aloud.

Drako frowned slightly. "I don't know, but I'm sure I'll find him. I always do."

"Is he alive?" Scarlett pressed.

He paused for a moment before answering. "If they are going after the two of you then I'm sure he is. Blaise has been filling their heads with nonsense about knowing where to find the new queen. He seems to think your father knows something about it."

"The new queen?" I laughed, "What would Kane know about the new queen? You sound like Henry and his stories about the dark dragon."

"Dark dragon?" Drako asked, looking at me in confusion, "Who is Henry?"

Scarlett glanced at me, and I shut my mouth, realizing I had already said too much.

"Some crazy old man that I met before I got to town," Scarlett said with a shrug.
