My heart dropped to my stomach and my heart started to race, realizing Drako had betrayed us.

"I knew you would be the one to bring her to me, Drako. You've done good," Blaise said, patting Drako on the back, "The others were worried, but I knew you wouldn't let me down."

Drako's eyes widened in shock before a huge grin broke out over his face, and he started laughing wildly. "Yes sir!"

I watched from the shadows in disbelief, trying to hold myself back. Drako looked around the area, still unaware of my presence.

"She wants to do this tomorrow. Do you have everything set?"

"Yes, of course. As soon as I have her, you can get rid of her father. I am eager to see him meet his demise."

"Why wait? You don't need him. I can get rid of him now."

My mouth dropped open, listening to Drako speak. He was a far better manipulator than I had thought. It made me wonder whose side he was on because from where I stood, it wasn't ours.

They talked for a minute more before they parted ways.

"He's gone, Grayson. You can come out now," he said as he got closer to where I was standing.

"You have been playing us this whole time," I growled as I lunged for him, tackling him to the ground.

"No, Grayson!" He retorted, throwing me off him, "I've been playing them not you."

"I'm supposed to believe you after you were just so eager to kill Kane!"

Drako got up from the ground and dusted himself off before offering me his hand. I pushed it away and got to my feet, still not convinced he was on our side.

"If I am supposed to kill him, I would have to be in the same room as him. I was just trying to hurry things along. Honestly, I would like to avoid having Scarlett involved. Blaise has set his sights on her."

"Why?"

"He probably thinks that Kane might have told her something about the new queen. It would be far easier to get information out of her than him."

"She doesn't seem that stupid," I muttered.

Drako snorted and rolled his eyes. "Well, then I guess he is a bigger fool than we first thought. He thinks she will spill everything at first sight and when it becomes clear that she has nothing he'll simply kill her. We have to stop it before it gets to that point."

I frowned, "How do we do that?"

"We need a distraction," Drako said, "And we have one."

"What are you thinking?"

"We get her outside. That way if anyone should see her it won't seem suspicious, and Blaise won't have a way to trap her. If he gets her inside that restaurant, she won't be able to get out. He has men everywhere and there are only two exits."

I nodded slowly, "Ok, so what will happen exactly?"

"Well, you'll be with her, making sure nothing happens to her, but also making sure no one follows. You have to get her to a place where she has more than one way to get away and convince her to stay there while we get Kane."

"There is no way she will go along with that, and you know it. Where the hell are you going to be through all of this?"

"I'm supposed to kill Kane, remember? That is how we find exactly where he is. They will lead me right to him."

"Yeah, after you lead her to Blaise. How the hell do you plan on getting around that one?"

"I don't plan on getting around it."

"What?"
