He looked over at me and sighed. "She is going to have to be able to escape."
My eyes widened, "Are you fucking insane? She will never agree to go along with this shit."
"What other choice do we have?" He demanded. "We don't want to risk anything and it's not like there are any other options. At some point, we are going to have to trust her to keep herself alive."
I didn't reply, my mind racing as I tried to think of an alternative to what Drako was suggesting. Finally, I just nodded. "Alright. Let's go talk to her."
When we got back to the building we had been staying in, we were surprised to find Henry there with Scarlett. Scarlett introduced Drako to Henry.
"A dragonslayer?" He asked, looking confused, "That's the guy you were talking about?"
"Yes," Scarlett replied without offering any further explanation, "I thought that he might be able to tell us about Samuel and why Blaise would be threatened by him."
"Who?" Henry asked.
"The Shadow Crest horde leader," Scarlett replied, "Do you know why Blaise would want Samuel dead?"
"I told you why; he said that he's a threat to our horde," Drako said.
"That's him!" Henry said, excitedly, "That's the dark dragon!"
"How do you know that?" I asked.
"Because only one of us has gone up against a dark Dragon and won."
"Samuel," we responded in unison.
"Okay. Where's Samuel? He can destroy the dark dragon, right? Go get him."
"No. He knows how to defeat the dark Dragon, but he can't do it himself."
"What?"
"Blaise doesn't have enough strength to use his blood power yet. That is why he needs to unite with the queen."
"Wait. Is that even possible?" We ask.
"Yes. When they are the same, there is no force capable of stopping them."
"Wouldn't the Queen have to be willing to take him as her mate for this to work?" Scarlett asked.
"She will not be, but Blaise may be able to convince her," Henry replied, "If that happens, he will turn the Queen dark as well. Only shadow magic can defeat shadow magic."
"You mean if we could kill this dark dragon, we would not need to find the Queen? Why didn't you say something?"
"Because I don't know where Samuel, is located," Henry replied, "And neither does Blaise. They're both at their most vulnerable now and so far, they haven't found each other either."
"Blaise seems to think that Samuel is in Shadow Crest," Drako said.
"The man looking for Ruby?" Henry asked.
Drako looked at me, surprised and confused.
"I asked him if he knew who it was," I admitted with a shrug.
"Do you think that was him?" Drako asked.
"It wasn't any of us. It had to be him. Probably trying to figure out whether you knew who he was or not."
