Bowing, he pressed his lips to hers. The excruciating way they lingered conveyed such tenderness, such need, such ownership. She wanted all of it. He seemed ready to give it when his fingertips slid the length of her arms until he could take hold of her wrists. She smiled when he looped her arms around his neck and picked her up. As he appreciated her admiration, he accepted the brief kiss she boosted up to give him.

They weren’t going to the bedroom. The balcony maybe? Was it big enough for them to do it safely? If he thought so, she’d trust him. And, yes, someone would probably call the cops, but Xander could afford the fine.

Except rather than go outside, he dipped down to seat her on the couch. “Wait here,” he murmured and left her there.

He picked up her coat with the condoms in the pocket. Rather than go for them, he took it into his bedroom.

Pushing her hands against the back of the couch, she straightened up. “Alex?”

“One second,” he called back.

Hmm… Uh, what was going on? She’d said he could do anything to her. Maybe giving him such broad scope was a mistake. Although she’d been joking about the supermodel thing, it wasn’t exactly outside the realm of possibility. A guy like him probably had access to fulfill any fantasy or curiosity. He’d have experience in areas of proclivity she’d never even heard of.

Releasing her elbows, she grabbed for a throw pillow, holding it against her stomach. Suddenly, sitting there in her underwear seemed rather conspicuous.

Xander emerged without her coat, though he was carrying fabric. “Breaks my heart.”

“What?” she asked as he took the pillow away from her to scan her figure. “What are you doing?”

“If you stay like that, I won’t be able to concentrate,” he said, offering her the material.

A shirt. One of his. “You want me to put this on?” she asked. He nodded, so she took it and sat forward to do as he asked. “Are we recreating a night I stayed over?”

“Remember how I asked you to have mercy on me?” he said, opening the fridge to retrieve her wine. “That’s what we’re doing.”

Sucking on her lower lip, she bided her time. He poured them drinks, switched on the TV and grabbed the remote to put it in her hand.

“What are we doing?” she asked, looking from the remote to him on his return to the kitchen. “Do you wanna watch porn or something?” Sex with Xander wasn’t going at all like she’d thought it would. “I don’t know how to get porn on a television without cable… Do you have cable? Of course you do. What billionaire would be without it?”

“How about Netflix?”

“I don’t think they have an adult section.” She frowned, turning her attention to him. “Do they? Let me check.”

There was another knock on the door, but she was too interested in her task to check who’d arrived. The only person she knew in Xander’s life was Lance. If it was anyone else, she’d probably have to leave.

“Thanks,” Xander said at the door, and then it closed.

No luck with the adult section. And no one else seemed to be with them. No person, but, from the smell, there was food in those bags he held while grabbing plates and flatware.

“What’s that?” she asked, flicking down the list without looking at the screen. “Are you hungry?”

“I thought we would be.”

After sex? “Uh, no, that’s not allowed. No socializing. Just sex.”

With the bag hooked on a finger, he brought everything over and sat next to her.

Leaning in to kiss her cheek, he put everything down. “I didn’t choose sex,” he breathed in her ear. “I pick option two.”

Confused, she was only half paying attention as he unpacked the food and checked in the boxes.

“But you invited me over,” she said, her hand with the remote-control loosening. “You kissed me… You touched my boobs.”

“Both of which I promise to do again. If not today, another day, whenever you’re ready.”

Still, she didn’t get it. “Huh?”

Freeing his hands and hers, he drew her around until they faced each other. “I pick option two,” he said, pushing her hair from her blinking gaze. “No guarantees, but the potential for the biggest reward.” He smiled, linking their fingers. “I make calculated risks every second of every day, babe. I’m not afraid of failure, I’m always confident of success.”
