I bow my head, touched by his kind words.

Blair rubs my back and whispers her love in my ear.

I raise my flute, smile at Rod, and thank him.

After a while, he, Jasper, and I leave the women to their planning and go for a walk around the property. So caught up in their conversation, they barely register our departure. I don’t mind since Blair beams surrounded by her mother and sister. If she’s happy, so am I.

Blair

“That ring is extraordinary, Blair!”

I grin at Jillian’s declaration and raise my hand. The giant diamond sparkles as I wiggle my fingers.

“The night before Luc proposed, he called his estate manager to bring it to New York from the vault here. It’s a centuries-old family heirloom. Monsieur Louis-François Cartier himself re-set the stones. Can you believe it?”

“It’s lovely, Blair. A treasure,” my mother says. “But are you truly happy, darling?”

I grasp her hands and nod.

“Absolutely, Mum! I love Luc so much. And now, we’re having twins and getting married. My dreams are coming true at last.”

She smiles and squeezes my hands.

“Good. I believe you’re an excellent match despite the age difference. You’ve always been an old soul, Blair. I think you matured hoping to attract Luc. So, I’m happy you’ve fulfilled your dreams, darling.”

“Me, too!” Jillian pipes in as she throws her arms around us. “Group hug!”

We giggle and settle in our seats.

“First, we need to determine the designer for your dress, since that will take the most time. Then we need to find an interior designer for the nurseries. You’ll need one here, in Paris, New York City, and London…”

We spend the next couple of hours taking notes and making phone calls. For my gowns, I select Alice Temperley—the English designer known for her feminine bridal gowns. I’ll start with one dress for the ceremony then switch into another for the reception. For their gowns, my mother and sister choose Valentino and Alexander McQueen, respectively. Naturally, my lingerie trousseau will be Lola’s Coterie pieces only. I’ll decide my honeymoon clothes once I know where we’re going.

With the attire set, we turn to the logistics. My mother reaches out to wedding planners to organize the catering, cake, and music. Once we select one, we’ll meet them here. We decide on four hundred guests and split the list between my parents and Luc and me. We’ll review and reconvene.

“Well, darling, it’s a lot to accomplish in two months. But we’re off to a good start and I do not want you to worry about a single thing. Focus on your health.”

I nod and place my hands on my babies bump.

“Luc tells me the same. He’s very protective of me—us. I promise not to worry.”

My Mum pats my hand and smiles.

“And you shouldn’t! You have Mum and me to help you,” Jillian adds rubbing my belly. “Take care of auntie’s babies.”

I beam at my mother and sister.

Moments later, the guys return, and Luc insists I break for lunch. Which I don’t mind since I’m always hungry these days. Eating for three requires more meals than usual!

Luc had us meet with a nutritionist to determine the best meal plans for me. Then he made certain the Paris and Blois chefs follow the plans without diversion. He even hired a chef for me in New York City.

I don’t mind his overprotectiveness, since I know it stems from Carole and Lucas. If it eases Luc’s mind, I don’t argue. Just as he doesn’t want me to worry, I don’t want him concerned about anything. We want a happy and healthy pregnancy.

So, I grin at him as he holds out his arm to help me from the sofa. I giggle, thinking how I’ll need his help when my belly pokes so far out I can’t see my toes and waddle around like a duck.

“What’s so funny, Mon Amour?”
