“I don’t know, Aria, I don’t know how many things Hunter has told Blake,” I said. “What if Blake finds out about you and tries to hurt you.”

“I don’t think you know this, but I am quite strong,” she said as she crossed her arm. “Besides, if it helps you feel better, I have an even stronger person behind me.”

“Who?”

“My mother,” she answered. “My mother may not look at it, but she’s quite the schemer. I’m sure she’ll think of something if I ask her for help.”

“Well, if you say so,” I said.

She grabbed my right hand and squeezed it, “Hey, trust me.”

I smiled. I trusted her. She wastheAria Wolfe, after all; the wolf who cannot be tamed and one of the most powerful women in Myrtle Beach.

“You’re right, I believe you,” I said. “Alright then, I’ll call Matilda.”

I called Matilda and informed her that I was agreeing to her plans.

“That’s awesome, Nick,” she said. “I’ll be expecting you tomorrow.”

“I will be there. Thank you so much, Matilda,” I replied.

“No, Nick, you can thank me when this is over,” she said.

“How would I repay you then?” I asked.

“Hmm, maybe I can have an advance tomorrow,” she said in a tone that sounded uhmm…seductive?

“Alright, Matilda, see you tomorrow,” I said and ended the call.

“Well, looks like I’ll be going tomorrow, but I don’t know how long I’ll be gone,” I said to Aria.

“I see,” she said, then picked up her phone, “I better call mom and tell her to keep an eye out for me.”

“Alright, I’ll get packing then,” I said.

Aria

Nick went to his place to get a few clothes he would need for his trip. I got to work immediately and called my mother.

“Oh, hello, jellybean,” she greeted. “How are you doing?”

“Hey, mom, I’m doing great,” I replied.

“You don’t sound like you are,” she said. “Is something wrong?”

“I don’t know how to respond to that,” I sighed. “But in summary, yeah, there’s something wrong.”

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

“Well, Nick lost his memories and recently recovered them,” I explained. “But he’s trying to get back what he’s lost.”

“He lost something other than his memories?” she inquired.

“Well, he was the President of a company, but now, his younger brother is in charge of said company,” I replied. “So he’s trying to get the company back.”

“What does he plan to do then?”

“I don’t know the specifics, but he’ll be leaving tomorrow,” I answered.
