“You’ll see,” she replied.

I picked up my phone and powered it on.

The door opened, and Hunter walked in, “Good to see you, Aisha. We won’t take much of your time.”

“Hunter?” I called.

“Blake?” he called and got into an attack stance. “The hell are you doing here?”

“No, calm down. It’s me, Nick,” I explained.

“It’s true,” a woman said.

There was a woman behind him, and she walked into view. Tears welled up in her eyes.

“Mom?” I called.

She nodded and stretched out her arms for a hug. I accepted them instantly.

“Oh, Nick, I’m so glad you’re okay,” she said as she rocked me from side to side.

“I’m so glad to see you, mom,” I said.

We broke free from the hug.

“This is great then,” Aisha said. “Not only do you have the 3rdperson, but you can also run a test to verify that you are both related.”

“I guess so,” I said. “Hey, Hunter…”

He looked pale.

“Look, man, I don’t know what you did in the past, but just know that what you’ve done for me is enough,” I said.

The pale look on his face didn’t go away.

“Hunter, are you okay?” my mother asked.

“Nick, how long have you been in Georgetown?” he asked.

“I’ve been here since yesterday,” I replied. “Why, what’s up?”

“This morning, I saw you at the Wolfe Pack building,” he said.

“That’s absurd, I’ve been…” realization hit me. I rushed to my phone and started dialing Aria. It wasn’t going through. She seemed to have blocked my number.

“I have to go back,” I said.

“Why?” Matilda asked. “We’ve already won. Blake isn’t even aware that you’ve taken over.”

“No, there’s something of high importance to me there,” I said, then turned to my mom. “How did you guys get here?”

“I used my private jet,” she replied. “You and Hunter should leave. I’ll handle the takeover, so you don’t have to worry about that.”

“Thanks, mom, you too, Malti and Aisha,” I thanked them and stormed out with Hunter.

We boarded the plane and were set to arrive in half an hour. I just hoped I wasn’t too late.
