“Ah, the good old positive energy that is Nick Parker,” he said with a smirk. “Even in a situation like this, you still keep your humor intact.”

“Well, being grumpy is terrible for my skin,” I said.

“Quite a nice thing you have going on here,” he said as he rubbed the gun against Aria’s face. “I was a little jealous of you for some time.”

“Well, I’d be jealous of me too if I were in your shoes,” I said.

“Why do you always get the good things?” he asked. “Why is it that no matter how I try, I will always be beneath you?”

“You are not beneath me, Blake,” I said. “Just put the gun down and let’s talk about this man to man.”

“And you, Hunter,” he said. “To think you’d betray me and work for this asshole.”

“Listen to yourself, Blake. You’re the asshole here,” Hunter replied.

“You do realize he has gone to my girlfriend’s head, don’t you?” I asked Hunter.

“He doesn’t have the balls to do jack squat,” Hunter said.

“You two are mocking me, even in this situation?” Blake yelled.

The door opened behind us, and Michael asked. “Is everything okay here? Oh wow, I’ll check in later.”

He closed the door.

“You know what?” Blake asked. “Hunter is right. I don’t have the balls to shoot this girl.”

“Oh, thank God,” I lowered my arms. “Alright, just drop the gun, and we can forget this whole thing happened.”

“Or better yet, I kill you just the way I should have,” he said and turned the gun at me. He pulled the trigger instantly.

Hunter jumped in front of me and was hit.

My eyes followed Hunter’s body as it fell to the ground. I looked up and noticed that Blake was shaking. He made eye contact with me and raised the gun toward me.

Aria hit the gun out of his hand. She grabbed his arm and drove her elbow into his nose. As he staggered, she kept his arm in front of her shoulder and threw him over.

He collapsed with a thud and passed out.

I rushed to Hunter, who was bleeding a lot. I pressed my cloth against the wound, trying to ensure he didn’t lose more blood while we waited for the emergency response team to arrive.

They arrived in the nick of time, and Aria and I accompanied Hunter to the hospital.

After a quick operation, the doctor informed us that he would be fine.

“That’s a relief,” I sighed. “I didn’t expect Hunter to save me again.”

“It shows how good of a person he really is,” Aria said.

“Speaking of good, what was that Godly move you pulled on Blake?” I asked.

“Oh, that? I have a black-belt in martial arts,” she answered with pride.

I rubbed her hair with gusto. “That’s my girl.”

She pouted a little, but it turned into a smile shortly.

“I slept with him,” she said. “Your brother, that is.”
