He nodded and left.

I turned to Aisha. “You came. I wasn't expecting you.”

“Of course, I'd be here. My father couldn't believe I struck an investment deal with your company,” she said. “I guess I have to thank you too. My favor with my father has risen considerably compared to my siblings.”

“That's amazing. I'm glad we could be of help,” I replied sincerely. “How about—”

My train of thought was cut short as a white-haired lady walked past us. She turned for a second and made eye contact with me…they were blue.

“How about what?” Aisha brought my attention back to her. “You really are quite the playboy, aren't you?”

“I haven't seen her before,” I said as I racked my brain, trying to remember if I had seen her somewhere before. “Anyway, I was going to ask if you were going to be in the city a little longer.”

“I don't plan on leaving soon,” she said. “I know it's a grieving day and all, but I'm craving some twin sandwich.”

I smirked. “After the reading, then.”

“Will you read?”

“Yes, kind of no need for it as I and Blake are going to end up sharing the company and other things,” I sighed. “Plus, the lawyer said my father wanted it to be read on the day he'd be laid to rest.”

“That's…not bad,” she said slowly.

“Is something on your mind?” I asked.

“Like I said, there really isn't going to be any problems between you and Blake,” she said. “Both of you seem to have an understanding of each other. I still envy that. I pray Allah doesn't let it go sideways.”

“Everything will be fine,” I said.

If only I knew how wrong I was.

“Looks like our uncles aren't going to be there for the reading of the will,” Blake said as we got ready to leave the church.

“We should just get the whole thing over and done with,” I sighed.

“Why are you in such a hurry?” he asked as we stepped out of the church.

A limousine pulled up in front of us. We got in and instructed the driver where we would be going.

“Aisha's in town,” I said.

“That's good. She came for the funeral, eh?” he asked.

“Yes, apparently, thanks to our partnership, her dad seems to favor her more than her siblings,” I replied.

“Wish we could celebrate it,” he said.

“Well…” I smiled. “…She did ask us out for a twin sandwich.”

“Nice, let's ditch this reading and go get laid.” He rubbed his palms together.

“Now you know why I'm in a hurry,” I chuckled.

“Driver, you heard us. Step on it,” he ordered.

“As you wish, sir,” the driver obeyed, and within minutes, we were at home.

“You're both late…” mother sighed, “…though the lawyer just arrived too.”
