I told my ex to leave me alone and never bother me again! I am so happy, so relieved, and I feel so strong on the inside right now, because I have so many beautiful people supporting me… starting with you.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, JAX!

I would scream it to the heavens, because you have made me happier than any person has a right to be, giving me the support and courage to take steps to find myself.

I hope your flight was okay. Seems like we calculated that you’d get back on base around three in the morning, so I hope you got some sleep. I can’t seem to stop smiling or thinking about you, and just wanted to reach out.

I love you dearly… and miss you just as much.

Write when you can,

Your wife – forever and always!

Mary curledup on the corner of the couch in her Flyboys t-shirt and a pair of Jax’s boxers that he’d forgotten, that were now going to be used as her pajama bottoms. She was watching television, snacking on a TV dinner, and had just sent her email to him… when it hit her.

She really needed a bed when Jax came back.

The couch might be acceptable for her since it was just her… but if she wanted to sleep spooned up against her husband? She was going to definitely need a bed in order for that to happen.

Looking around her little studio apartment, her mind began to work as she realized that if they indeed began to firm up a future together, if they wanted to have children, none of it would be happening here… and that was eye-opening.

The tiny studio apartment was five hundred square feet – and while it worked for her? She couldn’t put a full-size bed or a crib in here too.

Maybe it was time to think differently and quit worrying so much, because she wasn’t alone anymore. It was time to stop existing… and make a home, a nest, for her husband, and hopefully someday?

A family.

This was insanity to think of something like this, having only been married for a few days, combined with the fact that he was in Afghanistan… but was it though? What if she was pregnant already? She had nine months to find a place and move… and certainly wouldn’t feel like it during her late pregnancy.

If she wasn’t pregnant, she was still going to want to have a bedroom with a bed for when he returned. Was it strange to think about a home so quickly when you were already dreaming and wishing for a future with the man you loved?

Nervously, she opened an app and stared at the variety of places that appeared before her… and then closed it almost as fast.

He was going to think she was nuts!

This is insane, she mused… and hesitated.

… But was it?

Or, was this just being prepared and making plans in plenty of time for his arrival, taking part in a relationship, and making the decisions she could for them?

Jax never argued or fussed at her; instead, he was always letting her take control in everything. Where they went, what they ate, when they kissed, and even when they made love. He was always happy and just wanted to be a part of her world… and she knew deep down that this would be the same.

He wouldn’t balk at the idea of setting up a home together – and she darn well knew it.

Checking her email – she saw she’d received one from him and smiled, clicking on it immediately.

My beloved wife,

I cannot tell you how proud I am right now at seeing how you signed your email – and I understand about wanting to scream it to the heavens… because I blurted it out this morning in the showers, bragging to everyone, how I found the girl of my dreams and married her right away.

I’m not sure if everyone believed me – apparently, I’m getting a reputation for being a jokester (or getting confused with Sparky) but I can’t stop smiling… and blushing.

I love how passionate my wife is – and I’m a very lucky, lucky man. Is it wrong for me to hope that we made a baby?
