“Yeah. Great.” Her brown eyes were wide and…curious. Sure, there was a little fear spinning in them, too, but overall, it was curiosity.

“What do you think, then?” I asked.

“Love the smells, feeling nervous, excited, empowered, um….oh, sorry. There’s that therapy-thing turning on. Jenna always wants me to check on what I’m feeling—”

“And grab the one that’s most helpful.” I finished her sentence.

“So…you’ve been talking to her.”

I nodded. Drey checked over his shoulder. He was always doing that, watching out for me. So was Hunter. It must be a guy thing. Then again, I wouldn’t know that considering the guys I’d been exposed to over the years. I sure liked it, though. Being on my own, looking over my shoulder, and fighting to get free…yeah, I was tired. Was nice to know that someone had my back.

And not because I made him a small fortune every month with my body. Hell, it’d been four weeks since I’d told Drey I loved him, and he hadn’t once tried to make love to me.

“Hey, Angelina. Do you know Drey’s story? Why he doesn’t have sex?”

“He what? You two haven’t?”

“No. Was hoping you’d know.”

She quirked her eyebrow. “Girl. Why are you asking me? You should be asking him.”

“I’m working up to it. Come on. I was curious if you knew.”

“I don’t. Actually, that’s not something Iwantto know, either.” She rolled her eyes as she chuckled.

“Okay, missI’m getting some every night with my husband…”

“True.” She laughed.

And I felt almost…normal. For the first time in my life. Well, maybe I had when I was younger, but getting sold at the age of fifteen, I didn’t remember much.

“Theater fourteen,” Angelina hollered up to the guys.

Hunter dipped his head at us.

“I’m good to go,” Angelina said, then interlocked her arm with me. “Bathroom break before the previews?”

“That’s what girls do, right?”

“Save our seats,” I called out to Drey.

He stopped, looked at me, then around. “Just there?”

I reached out, and he met my fingertips with his. “We’ll be super-fast. Don’t eat all the Sugar Babies.”

“Don’t worry, I have about a pound of candy corn in my purse,” Angelina said with a laugh.

She tugged me into the restrooms as Drey watched over us. Hunter joined him, and they started talking. I turned to Angelina and said, “They’re not going to the seats, are they?”

“Probably not.” She giggled. “Protective little buggers, huh? But I don’t mind.”

“Me neither.”

I hurried through the bathroom and was fixing my hair in front of the mirrors when Angelina came up next to me. “Get me out of here.”

She was breathing heavily, and I thought I heard her reciting P!nk songs, her patented anxiety attack calming technique.

“Whoa, what happened?”
