“Are you sure that’s it?” Nate questioned.

“What else could it have been?” Wyatt returned.

“I don’t know, maybe her attitude last night had more to do with where she thought you really were than you not answering,” Sam suggested.

“Did our perfect little sister finally fail at something?” Viola asked smugly. “You’re cheating on her, aren’t you?”

“Viola!” her mother and father shouted in unison.

“I have never, andwillnever, cheat on Gabby,” Wyatt said glaring at her.

“Of course not, she gets every damned thing she wants, doesn’t she? Little Miss Perfect is now wife to the perfect husband…and she’ll never give a damned about anyone else,” Viola laughed angrily.

“Viola what is your problem?” Sam asked.

“I’m sick and tired of everything Gabby. The world doesn’t revolve around her thougheveryonein this room thinks it does.”

“You might be her sister but until you learn how to be civil to her I don’t want you anywhere near Gabby,” Wyatt told Viola.

“You’re banning me from seeing my own sister?” she scoffed.

“I don’t want Gabby upset. She needs calm in her life.”

“Why?” Viola asked. “What is possibly going on that could cause you to flip out and try and ban me from her? Are you scared that the truths I might have for her will affect your sex life?”

“Viola!” her mother said in disbelief and frustration.

“No, I don’t want Gabby upset because she’s already worrying that her choice to take the medication last night will affect the baby…shit,” Wyatt cursed under his breath.

“Gabby’s pregnant?” Maggie asked in surprise.

“Please don’t tell her I said anything, we honestly only found out last night,” Wyatt told her.

“And she had to make a choice when she was still in shock and pain,” Maggie said shaking her head. “Wyatt, this is something for me to help her handle…I know, I won’t let her know I know. Viola, I think you should call your sister later and apologize, donotargue with me Viola. You had no right to say those things to your sister.”

Maggie left the room and Wyatt was left facing three curious Simmons men and one suspiciously annoyed sister.

“So…you got our sister pregnant?” Sam said raising an eyebrow.

“She is my wife,” he replied.

“Boys, sit down,” Owen instructed, “andyouViola…you and I are going to need to have a talk later. I’m sick and tired of this animosity between you and Gabby. You’re both my daughters and I love you both.”

Viola gave a small snort that had Wyatt wondering what the real story was but before he could question them, Viola grabbed her purse and stormed out.

“Word of advice,” Nate laughed, “pray for a son.”

Wyatt gave him a slight smile, he didn’t care what it was, he had the perfect bargaining chip on the way, and a reason to keep Gabby next to him for the next twenty years. It might take that long to convince her to fall in love with him.

Maggie found her daughter staring out the window in the upstairs waiting room. She walked over and put her arm around her pulling her against her letting her know how much she loved her.

“Let’s go for a walk,” she suggested to Gabby.

“What about Dad?”

“Your brothers, sister, and Wyatt are in with him. Send your husband a text if you think he’ll worry.”
