“What’s wrong Wyatt? Did you finally realize that you and your little cyber geek will never figure it out?”
“Where is it Gabby? Where the hell is the money?”
“Would someone like to tell us what the hell is going on?” Sam asked.
“Ask your gold-digging bitch of a sister,” Wyatt stated.
“Don’t youevercall my daughter that,” Owen shouted.
“Don’t call her a gold-digger either, Gabby doesn’t give a fig about money,” Nate added.
“No? Then perhaps you could explain why she stole over six million dollars from the company last year?” Wyatt said and the room fell silent for a moment before pandemonium broke out around her.
Gabby stood glaring at him as the others began to argue and shout in confusion and worry. He returned her glare and upped it one until the others ran out of steam and turned to them for explanation.
“Why now Wyatt? What did you come across today that kept you from the doctor’s appointment?” she asked tilting her head to the side.
“What doctor’s appointment?” Caroline asked.
“We found out you’ve lied yet again, led us down yetanotherfalse trail,” Wyatt said. “I could strangle you right now Gabby.”
“Lay one hand on my sister and you’ll need a miracle,” Sam said.
“Which one did you uncover Wyatt? Let me guess, you realized that the account in Houston was fake?” she tossed out at him ignoring her family’s questioning looks.
“We found that and something else Gabby…tell me again, who’s Haley?”
“I told you, she’s a friend, one I haven’t seen in years.”
“Hold on,” Owen said then repeated it louder when they refused to stop. “Hold on. Gabrielle, what is he talking about?”
“Guess I have to admit it now, don’t I?” she said with a laugh that held no humor.
“Admit what?” Maggie asked. “Gabby, no, you couldn’t have taken money from him.”
“Oh she did, she almost got away with it too,” Wyatt said breaking off when a man entered the room. “Who the hell are you?”
Every one turned to stare and Gabby felt her heart stop…Rick?
She watched as her mother’s face paled and she began to ask him as the others started up again, “Rick, what are you doing here? You shouldn’t…”
“Enough!” Gabby yelled. “It’s okay, Mom. I already know who he is.”
“That makes one of us,” Sam said.
“Mom?” Viola said glancing between her and Rick.
“Who are you?” Isaac asked.
“He’s my biological father,” Gabby answered with ease, a little smugness settling onto her lips at Wyatt’s shock. “Haley’sfather…what are you doing here?” she added staring at him as he continued to look at her in disbelief.
“Haley, asked me to meet her here,” he finally said. “I couldn’t believe it when she told me…but it’s true, isn’t it?”
“Okay,” Wyatt said holding up his hands quieting everyone once again as they all began speaking on top of one another. “I think it’s time the truth gets told around here. Who wants to go first?”
“I think there’s only one person who knows the entire story,” Gabby stated. “So if you all would kindly shut up and sit down, I’ll tell you…”
She waited until they all followed suit and then smiled at her mom who had her head buried in her father’s shoulder. “Mom, it’s alright…I’ve known for a while.”
