“My brother is willingly going to give up Gabby and over half his money?” Joan asked.

“Yup…and his claim on the baby.”

“What!?” they all shouted at him.

“Hey, I was checking the system and ran across his email between him and his lawyer…can’t blame a guy for reading it.”

“Do you have a copy of it?” Adam asked.

“It’s on the network still,” he answered.

“Good, maybe we should send it to Gabby?” he suggested.

“I don’t know, that might hurt her more,” Haley stated. “If she thinks that he doesn’t want her, doesn’t want their baby, and that he’s giving her the money to show he’s not the ass he will appear to be in public it’ll kill her soul.”

“Maybe it’s a chance we’ll have to take, but I think we should hold off, give her a chance to relax,” Viola said looking for a compromise. “If she’s not home in a few weeks then we can send her the email and let her know that Wyatt’s in love with her.”

“And you can monitor Wyatt’s emails regarding Gabby,” Joan told Morris. “We need everything if there’s going to be any hope for them.”

“I don’t think we should let Wyatt back in her life,” Nate argued.

“I think that’s up to Gabby,” Sam replied. “It’s her life and if she’s in love with him then we should give her the chance to be happy. It doesn’t mean we can’t watch out for her and take him down if he stops making her happy.”

“Fine,” Nate stated, “but I dare him to make her cry just once.”

“Are we all in agreement?” Adam inquired. “We let them have some space but say in a month if Gabby’s not back and seems worse than she is now we intervene?”

“Agreed,” they said getting ready to leave.

Haley stopped and picked up the photo albums they’d put together a few years ago and held them tightly as they went back to the Simmons’ house where they found that they weren’t the only ones plotting for Gabby and Wyatt’s future.

“Mom, Dad?” Joan said in surprise as they walked in. “What are you doing here?”

“Dad,” Haley smiled hugging him and then her daughter. “What’s going on?”

“We were discussing recent events,” Isaac stated. “What about you all?”

“Um…we found out something about Gabby,” Joan admitted.

“What?” Maggie inquired gripping Owen’s hand.

“She left town,” Haley told them handing over the phone. “That was how we talked this past year. Gabby was the only one who knew where we were.”

They read the message and stared at one another before saying anything.

“I’m guessing she didn’t tell you where she went?” Rick asked.

“No,” Haley answered.

“And I guess there’s no point in searching for her either is there?” Owen stated.

“Sorry sir,” Morris said, “but I’ve been trying to figure out how Gabby manages to hide things as well as she does for a year now. If she’s involved in an underground operation like Haley said there’s no telling where she could be.”

“Underground operation?” Caroline inquired.

“She helps battered women get new identities and find safe places for them to move to,” Haley answered. “She’s been helping out since college; it’s how the FBI found her.”

“We have a half plan to get her back home though,” Sam told them explaining.
