He was flustered then. "Oh shit, sorry. I uh, didn't mean to make you feel sad. You know, just if ever you want to talk or anything. Like, my sister is adopted."

I gave him a smile. “Oh, you must be a great brother."

"I hope so. I mean, she was adopted as a baby, and she knows both her birth parents and stuff, so it's not the same."

I placed a hand over his, squeezing gently. I could feel the heat of Westin's gaze on the back of my neck, as if he'd put a hand there, squeezing gently, telling me to stop touching this motherfucker.

Well, I needed this motherfucker to help me find Finn, so I was going to do what I needed to do.

"Um, right." He cleared his throat and made a series of taps. "Um, if you look here, there are some clues in this background, the decor. A simple Google reverse search helped with that. Then over here, the DJ. He's kind of famous. And the time stamp is a definite clue. That was New Year’s Eve last year. So that told me where the party was. A lot of these parties have some kind of a guest list, especially for something like New Year’s Eve, and usually, promoters want your email address so that they can find you again, you know. The name of the bloke we're looking for?"

"Finn Wesley."

Kevin nodded. Another few quick taps and… "Yup, it's right here. His email, and he put his address in too."

I blinked in shock. "That easy?"

Kevin shrugged. "Well, I mean the hacking wasn't exactly easy, and it was kind of illegal. But it’s a bar, so they didn’t have the strongest security."

Still, I could feel Westin's glower.

"Thank you so much, Kevin. I-I don't know how to repay you."

He smiled down nervously at me, sliding his gaze over to Westin and then back. "Actually, I was thinking that you and I could maybe—"

I reached for my wallet. “I remembered you had a fee the last time you helped Ariella in class."

His face fell. "Oh, I wasn't going to charge you."

"Oh no, I insist. You charged her a hundred, right? I pulled together a hundred and fifty if that's okay. I figured the price has gone up since last year."

His brow furrowed. "No, I'm not going to charge friends."

"Oh, come on. You're friends with Ariella too, right?"

“I—guess.”

Westin was by my side then. "Time to go Nissa."

"This has been great. Thank you. I appreciate it." I took a photo of the address with my phone. "I wouldn't have been able to find him without you."

He flushed then. "Oh sure, you would have figured it out."

As we left, Westin's grip on my elbow was tight all the way down the hallway until I shook him free. "What is your problem?"

"Did you need to flirt with him?"

"I don't know what you mean."

He leaned then, crowding me. “Don’t fuck with me, Nissa. The flirtation, holding his hand, giving him a nice peek of your tits, high and firm. He took several peeks, or didn’t you notice?"

"You've taken more than several."

"Well, you had your arse grinding on my crotch last night, so there is that."

I swallowed hard. "I needed the help, and I knew he had a crush on me. I felt bad about it, which is why I insisted on paying him."

"Looks like he wanted more than a payment."
