"You know what I mean."

"My mom warned me away from her, she said that if Artemis found out she would cause problems," I admitted. Maybe that would make him think twice.

"If Demeter got over my mom's kidnapping, I'm sure Artemis would be fine with a very distant descendent having a relationship with someone."

"Once again, she isn't the relationship type," I scoffed.

"She hadn't met me prior to tonight," he replied. An answering growl from me had a smirk spreading across his face. "It seems she draws in a wide variety of men. You, a demon prince, a dragon-kin, and a God. And that is all I've noticed in one night. What if she changed her mind about a relationship? What if she picked all of us?"

"If she picked all of us, it wouldn't be a relationship."

"No? Bellamy's brother is in a relationship with four other men and one witch. They went through quite a few trials first, but it isn't impossible," Alastor replied.

"I'm not sharing a woman with you," I said. Washing the dirty cups in front of me, I kept my gaze averted. I didn't want him to get any ideas.

"We'll see," he said, tapping the wooden surface before he pushed off and headed back across the room.

CHAPTER 7

Samantha

The desire abatedfor ten minutes before it was back with a vengeance. Lex had done exactly what I asked him to do. My core was probably going to be bruised, but I'd do it again. He knew how to move to hit just the right spot. I clenched my thighs together as I danced. Was the incubus near?

Scanning the room, my gaze fell on the pair at the bar, Lex with his reddish-blonde hair and styled beard paired with the deliciously dark man across from him, Alastor. The day old growth on his face was as dark as the hair on his head. They were like yin and yang, both light and dark. What would it be like to be in that sandwich? I had a feeling that Alastor's play in bed would be the type that was part pleasure and pain.

"Aren't you supposed to be hunting the demon?" Raiden broke into my musings.

"I am, Rai, I would have had him if you didn't scare him away," I replied as I let the music move my body.

Throwing a look at him over my shoulder, I found his gaze locked on my ass, not just drifting to the spot, but zoned in. It sent a little thrill of awareness through me. A low and pleasant hum warmed my blood. Yeah, I knew I couldn't have him, andit was probably all in my head, but just the tiny sliver of the thought was enough to get me hot. My brother would kill us, but I wouldn’t cross that line. A tendon jumped in his jaw, and he visibly tugged his eyes away, pushing his fingers through his hair. I licked my lips and pulled my lower lip in between my teeth as his gaze landed on mine, and he shifted his eyes around the room. Yep, all in my head. Oh well.

"He was going to feed on you, and you were just going to let it happen," he grumbled above the music and, twisting toward him, I moved closer so that I didn't have to shout.

"Rai, if there is no hunting in the club, then there is no feeding here either," I replied. He probably didn't know the rule, it was a supernatural club, and I was sure it was his first time here, being a mortal and all.

"Beautiful, I think we have a common goal," Alastor said behind me.

Last time I looked at him, he had been in a deep conversation with Lex. Turning my head, I gave him a once over. He was sex walking, if I was honest. Why was I surrounded by men that were so tempting? He wore a suit, the long straight tie was slightly loose at his neck, and the black jacket hung open, a plain white shirt stretched across his broad chest and was tucked neatly into black slacks. He slipped his hands into his pockets as he watched me with bright blue eyes.

"We do?" I asked when I realized I was staring. He had just let me, content to be studied.

"Yeah, Bellamy, the demon prince. I'm tasked with bringing him home to his father. We could be of service to each other. I know you have the dragon, but you could use more help."

Raiden coughed hard, and I turned toward him. Was he okay? He shook his head, his gaze on Alastor. "Rai?"

"I'm fine, just inhaled saliva," he replied.

"Dragon?" What was Alastor talking about?

"Mistaken, apologies, your friend looks like he could be part of a dragon-kin family I know."

"Oh, yeah, Raiden is mortal," I said. My fingers grazed Rai's arm, and I could feel how tense he was beneath my touch. "There is nothing wrong with that, though. He is more than capable of helping me."

I didn't want Alastor to think less of Raiden because he was mortal. I didn't. He was amazing, and my words were all true. Even if I didn't want him to help me hunt for entirely different reasons.

"I believe you, my lady," Alastor said as he bowed his head slightly. He was a little strange.

"What are you?" I asked bluntly.
