“You didn’t make it very far,” I said. Joe’s was the center point between the facility, Lakers House, and our place.

“I got lost. I’ve been walking past the same tree for almost an hour.”

“Wow, your sense of direction must be terrible.” Laughter rumbled in my chest. “You know, there’s this thing called Google Maps—”

“Ha-ha, very funny. For as much as I enjoy… whatever this is, I’m in desperate need of coffee.” She stared at me expectantly. When I didn’t budge, she added, “Please move.”

Shit.

“Yeah, sure.” I stepped aside. “You know you could have taken me up on my offer to show you around.”

“I told you I had plans.”

“And how did the sleepover go? Any naked pillow fights?” The corners of my mouth tipped, and Aurora rolled her eyes.

“What do you think?”

“I think it’s a pretty damn awesome fantasy.”

“Noah.” She blushed, her eyes dipping a little.

“Relax, shortstack. I’m just messing with you.” Her expression dropped, and I realized my error. “Shit, Aurora, I didn’t—”

“I’m sure you have things to do, so I’ll just…” She nodded toward the door and went to take off.

“Wait, let me—”

“Noah,” a voice called, and I glanced over to find a group of puck bunnies headed my way.

Talk about bad fucking timing.

“Looks like your fan club just arrived.” Aurora gave me a weak smile. “I’ll see you around, hotshot.” She ducked into the coffee shop and left me at the mercy of Fallon and her Beta Pi friends.

“Noah, I was hoping we’d run into you.” She beamed, flicking long platinum blonde hair off her shoulder. “We’ve organized a Pledge Party for the new pledges, and we were hoping you and some of the guys would attend.”

“I’ll have to run it by Dumfries. He’s the captain now.”

She stepped closer, lowering her lashes and gazing up at me the way girls did whenever they wanted something. Reaching for my t-shirt, she trailed her hand up my chest, smiling seductively. “I’ll make it worth your while.”

“I’m sure you will.” I smirked because Fallon was a pretty girl, and I already knew she was good for it. Had discovered that little tidbit during freshman year at another one of the sorority’s parties.

But she knew my rule. And I had no intention of breaking it. Not even for someone as hot as Fallon Bridger.

“Really?” She noticed my hesitation. “It’s been almost a year.” Her brow went up.

I tucked my free hand into my sweats and shrugged. “You know how it is, babe.”

“Don’t worry, Noah, it’s not like I’m going to fall madly in love with you. We can fool around and have some fun without putting a label on it.” Fallon batted her eyelashes, and I suppressed a groan.

It was too early for this shit. Not to mention, Aurora was probably watching from inside Joe’s, judging me.

Without thinking, I glanced back, disappointment plunking in my chest when I realized she wasn’t.

Damn, that girl was a tough nut to crack.

Except you don’t want to crack her, asshole. She’s Austin’s sister. Not to mention your new housemate.

It had disaster written all over it.
