“Fallon?” His brows furrowed. “I thought you told her you weren’t looking for a repeat.”

“I did, but—”

An arm slung over my shoulder, and I looked up to find Mase grinning at me. “And what the fuck are you three idiots supposed to be?”

“The three bears, obviously.” Connor rolled his eyes.

“If you’re the three bears, where’s Gold—” Mase scanned the room, his gaze falling on Aurora talking to Dayna and Ella, “Shit, is that little sis?”

“Don’t even think about it,” Austin warned, standing two feet taller.

Jesus.

Mase held up his hands. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

“Fuck this. I need a drink. Con?”

“Yeah. Line ’em up.” Connor followed Austin to the counter, and they started pouring our drinks.

“She looks different.” Mason stepped up beside me.

“It’s the wig.”

“Hmm, I don’t know. But it’s something alright. I should probably warn you; Sam showed up about ten minutes ago.”

“Fuck,” I muttered under my breath. Just what I didn’t need.

All week, she’d been texting me. Asking me to come over and keep her company in the aftermath of the break-in. Campus security had taken her statement and replaced the lock on her door. But beyond that, there was no sign of forced entry and no useful footage on the security tapes.

I wanted to believe she wouldn’t fabricate something like that, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

So I’d kept my distance.

I wouldn’t be able to avoid her if she was here.

“Holden, get the fuck over here.” I joined the guys and accepted a Solo cup from Connor. “To costume cup victory.”

“Hmm, Con, I hate to break it to you, man, but I’m not sure our costumes are going to cut it. Tipper is dressed up as a giant inflatable dick.”

“Little Hart, get over here,” he beckoned her over.

Ella and Dayna nudged her in our direction despite the reluctance in her eyes. “What are you doing all the way over there, Rory, baby?” he asked her. “We’re a team, remember.”

“Is he always like this?” Aurora asked Ella.

“When he commits to an idea, he goes all in.” She shrugged. “I’ve always appreciated a man who knows what he wants.”

“Somebody pass me the bucket,” Mason gagged.

“Jealous, Steele?”

“Jealous that your dick only gets to experience one pussy for the rest of its life. Yeah, no. Sorry, El.” He flashed her an insincere smile, but Ella being Ella, laughed.

“One day Mason. One day, you’ll get it.”

“I’m hoping I’ll get it in Wonder Woman in about two hours’ time.”

“I’m so glad I’m not single and don’t have to endure this anymore,” Dayna murmured. “Don’t suppose anyone has seen my boyfriend lurking around anyway?”
