Because I sure as hell was going to enjoy the view.

To my endless disappointment, I didn’t get to watch Aurora do any yoga. Austin returned quicker than I anticipated, ready to head to The Penalty Box, and I couldn’t exactly ask him to give me ten minutes to ogle his sister in the downward dog position.

“I can’t believe classes start Monday,” Leon said. “My schedule is a killer.”

“Seriously, rookie? Wait until you’re a senior,” Austin grumbled. “I’m not looking forward to balancing everything.”

“All work and no play makes Austin a dull boy,” Connor squeezed his shoulder, grinning. “You should consider getting some regular pussy. One less thing to worry about.”

“Seriously, if you don’t stop with this shit, I’m banning you from guys’ time.”

“What? I’m serious. It has its perks, you know. Regular sex.” He counted off his fingers. “Somebody to kiss all your boo-boos better.” Another finger went up. “Someone wearing your jersey in the stands.” And another. “If you ask me, you’re all missing out.”

“Okay, Romeo,” Austin leaned over and snagged his glass. “No more happy juice for you.”

“I’m just say—”

“I’ll be back,” I said, noticing Adams entering the bar. He had a girl in tow, who quickly put some space between them when she noticed me approaching.

“Hey, Noah,” she purred as if she hadn’t just walked into the place with my teammate.

I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

“Hey.” I gave her a perfunctory glance. “Do me a favor and give Adams and me a minute.”

“Uh, sure.” Her gaze bounced between us. “I’ll be at the bar.” She smiled.

At me. Not him.

“She’s—”

“So fucking hot, right?” He smirked. “What’s up?”

“Austin’s sister. What did you say to her last night?”

“Who?” He gawked at me.

“Goldilocks, the girl who came to the party with Austin, and Con—”

“Oh, shit.” Realization dawned in his eyes. “The chubby bunny was Hart’s sis—fuck!” He staggered backward, clutching his face. “What the fuck is your problem, Holden?”

“Talk about Aurora like that again, and it won’t just be me you’re dealing with.”

“Coach will—”

I grabbed him by the collar and smashed him up against the wall. “Coach won’t hear a word of this, got it?”

“Or what, Holden? What the fuck are you going to do about it?”

“Hey, we good here?” Connor came up behind me.

“Yeah, just teaching this asshole some respect.” I glowered at him, a silent warning that he should back the fuck down and keep his fucking mouth shut.

“I think he got the memo, bro.” Connor laid his hand on my shoulder.

“Yeah.” Shoving Abel hard, I walked away, inhaling a ragged breath.

Fuck. I hadn’t meant to let it get that far, but I fucking knew he’d run his mouth to Aurora. No wonder she’d hightailed it out of there before anyone could intervene.
