FinnG: My thoughts exactly.
FinnG: What could be a smart way to go about it? Should I set up mine and go from there?
PCoop:  emoji
PCoop: Though it might work for some, I don’t think it can be applied to this line of work. You would have to have some knowledge. Also, what would you do with a security company?
FinnG: Protect the world against assholes. You don’t think I can do it and learn?
PCoop: It can be done for certain industries. Have you ever heard of Café Fusion?
FinnG: I googled it, and it seems like it’s a coffee shop with sandwiches and smoothies. What does that have to do with this?
PCoop: The owner created it as a class project. I’m not saying do that, but maybe you can strategize what your main character needs.
FinnG: He needs a training camp, a shooting range, a server room.
FinnG: No, several server rooms, hiding in different countries.
PCoop: He’ll have to buy a big property where he can set that up. Maybe he needs a jet or two. What if he hires a company to design a custom-made jet? It can have a conference room, a bedroom… The possibilities are endless.
PCoop: It’s a good thing that he knows how to fly. He can work with a car company to build a vehicle that’ll work on all terrains. A motorcycle too.
FinnG: He needs weapons and a warehouse to store them too.
PCoop: You might need places around the country or the world. You also need a few safe houses.
FinnG: And a crew.
PCoop: Connections with agencies like the FBI, CIA, Interpol… There are so many.
FinnG: It would be simple and won’t take long, don’t you think?
PCoop: To write about it once you research? Sure.
FinnG: No, I mean to set it up.
PCoop: If you’re thinking about the timelines in the book, so it’s real… I don’t think that’s simple unless our hero is uber-wealthy. We’re talking gazillionaire—part of the one percent.
PCoop: He also needs to know the right people to get permits. Law enforcement, federal agencies… you name it.
PCoop: He’s a SEAL, so he’ll be able to reach out to his platoon and hire them.
PCoop: Okay, I just spoke to a friend, and he gave me a few names of forums where you can do your research. I sent you the email with that information. Please don’t do anything stupid with it. Some of the people in there can be dangerous.
FinnG: I got the email. I’m guessing the handle name you sent me is your friend’s.
PCoop: Yep, he might be able to point you in the right direction.
FinnG: When are you sending the new revisions?
PCoop: It should hit your inbox next Friday. The cover artist should be reaching out to you with a few drafts tomorrow morning.
FinnG: Thank you for all your help. This chat was exactly what I needed for my next project.
PCoop: You mean book two?
FinnG: Sure. Take care of yourself, Ms. Cooperson.
