Yep, there her mother went again, trying to get her to go with someone they’d think would be perfect for her.

“Didn’t happen,” she said.

They hung up a few minutes later and she decided maybe it was time to take that damn bull by the horns and pull him in her direction.

“Grant,”Garrett said, going into his brother’s office. “Where have you been?”

“Talking to Ryder,” Grant said. “Why?”

“I’ve got news for you.”

“What?” Grant asked.

“I just talked to Megan.”

“And?” Grant asked. “Did you get anywhere with her?”

“I put some feelers out like we all talked about.”

Since the wedding, he, his wife, brother and sister-in-law had been putting their heads together to see how they could get this match moving. Jami had given his wife her number and they were going to try it from different angles.

“How did she react?”

“She laughed. You know Megan, she is funny like that. Said she thought the bull moved to another arena.”

“He’s going to be stubborn,” Grant said. “I get a feeling there.”

“I told her she might need to check out that arena with a different shade of red. She said maybe.”

“Guess there isn’t much more we could do,” Grant said.

“No. Kara caught me and I had to leave. I don’t need my kids on my case just yet. I already had to plan it when I knew Jade wasn’t around because she is too smart when it comes to those things.”

His daughter was in his face with it too. Right now they had to play this quiet, as he wasn’t so sure how Raina might feel about it.

“Your daughter loves busting on us. She’s all good,” Grant said. “What do you think the next step is?”

“I think we’ve got to wait at this point,” he said. “We can’t move too fast.”

“I hate waiting, but you’re right. You did what you could. I’ll check in with her soon but not too soon.”

“At least we’ve got something we can work on,” he said. “Our wives have no choice but to let us do it since we see Megan.”

Their wives weren’t the only ones that enjoyed matching people up. And this one was going to be on them.

Awkward Exchange

Jonah was walking out of the back room where he was training one of his MMA fighters in the ring to get more tape for his gloves.

He got in the ring while training and showing moves, but he didn’t do much combat. He had gear on his hands and his head. His trainees did too.

He wasn’t here to hurt anyone. He wasn’t here to get himself hurt either.

He couldn’t do it again. He felt like he was finally in a good place and didn’t get the headaches often, nor the ringing in his ears.
