Tasha, I’m on my way.

If she was in danger, it was my fault. I should have never left her out of my sight.

“Sam, pull all the footage and send it to my laptop. I must go.” I had planned on staying here and watching them, but now I couldn’t.

“Son, I’ll check them. Go.” My dad patted my back.

Odd. There was no time to ponder his impromptu change in behavior. Ava needed me.

My tires screeched in front of Peaks. I charged inside and found the nearest bouncer. I tossed him against the wall before he had a chance to blink. He wasn’t a competent bouncer.

“Lock the door,” I demanded.

“Huh?” he stammered. Piss trickled down his pant leg and hit my shoe. I dropped him. Not competent at all.

A swollen version of him wobbled over to me. He hefted up his belt several times as he approached me. I looked down at the man who had pissed himself. I couldn’t have two scared bouncers.

“Sir, I need you to put the place on lockdown.” I raised my hands to appear less threatening.

The moron pointed a stun gun at me. I did not have time for his incompetence. I charged him and grabbed him by the neck. While I had him swinging, I searched his waist for his radio. He gurgled something incoherent.

With his radio in hand, I clicked the side button. “This place is on immediate lockdown.”

“Who is this?” a woman’s voice asked.

“Ethan Moore! Any more questions?” I asked.

“Ethan, baby, it’s me, Tree. You heard him. Everyone lock it down,” she bellowed. “Anything else I can help you with?”

“I’m looking for someone, so no one leaves till I say so.” I clicked off the radio and looked at the man gasping for air and the one covering his wet spot. I clicked the radio again. “You also might want medical assistance for your two slobs that guard the front door.”

CHAPTER26

Ava (Day 4)

Sirens blared through the club.I covered my ears which didn’t do anything to dull the noise. What the fuck!Tasha had invited me to her VIP section to watch the fights. I figured since Ethan was on his way, I might as well be easy to find.

Felix won his fight, which because of Brad, I hadn’t seen any of it. Felix and Sandy went to the locker room after and hadn’t come out yet. Which meant he was probably entering another fight.

The next few matches I didn’t pay attention to. Brad found me here. He had to have followed me. There was no way it was a coincidence. He found me and was letting me know.

The sirens continued. What was going on? Tasha linked her arm to mine and pulled me to my feet.

“I have to find Felix and Sandy!” I shouted.

Tasha pointed at her ears.

“Felix and Sandy!” I shouted.

She pointed at her ears again and shrugged.

Everything went silent. I couldn’t hear. Tree stood in the middle of the ring with a microphone. Her mouth was moving, but all I heard was ringing in my ears.

I went to leave when Tasha yanked my arm. She shook her head then pointed at my seat. What was she trying to tell me?

Before I could figure it out, a tall man with tattoos on his hand entered the ring and stood next to Tree. Ethan. Shit. He grabbed the microphone from Tree.

The ringing in my ear dissipated while he was speaking.
