My vision blackened. I tossed punch after punch at Adam. I screamed and yelled. Adam grabbed me and held my arms by my side. “Shh. I’ll explain later.”

Tristan and Ethan were already dragging Brad from the restaurant.

“Careful, my arm doesn’t work,” Brad cried out.

“He’s lying,” I called out. I was the only one that knew his secret.

Years ago, he injured his arm during a fight. He knew if he kept fighting, he would be killed. He was good, but not good enough. To stay out of the fighting ring but get money for coaching he said his arm was immobile. According to him, the clubs would expect him to still fight if his arm was in workable condition.

I didn’t learn his secret until the first time he held me down. All these years, I never told a soul. Even when Judy accused me of not being kind enough to him. Of not helping him more. She had no clue he would use both of his arms to hold me down and rape me repeatedly.

“Are you okay?” Adam pushed my hair back.

“Touch me, and I’ll kill you.” I spat.

“What deal?” I had to know.

“To be your server. He wanted to see you. I wanted to see your reaction to him.” He shrugged.

“Did it satisfy you? Was my reaction good enough for you? What is wrong with you?” First, you demand I suck Tristan’s dick, then you bring me here with my asshole ex. Why do you hate me so much?” I ground my teeth. He was a monster.

“I was satisfied watching you orgasm. I can’t wait to see it again on our wedding night.” He stepped closer, but not enough to touch me. “As for your ex, that was a test. You passed.”

“Fuck you.” I ripped the necklace off that he bought me and tossed it on the ground.

CHAPTER31

Ethan (Day 5)

Ava looked back at me,watching me. I licked my finger, which still had her juices on it. She grinned and walked to the bathroom.

The idea of her going anywhere without me bothered me. Someone was after her. So far, I hadn’t found any leads. My father examined all the tapes and hadn’t found anything.

Ava was convinced it was Brad or even Adam. I had dismissed her accusations. Neither would have a way of getting inside the mansion. Then Brad found her at the fight. There was a chance I had misjudged him.

I still wasn’t convinced Adam had done it. His objective was to get out of the marriage Brian had arranged. Aside from that, I didn’t see him as evil. There was also the fact that his burns were from trying to save a life. An evil person doesn’t do that.

Even the limo ride wasn’t evil, it was about getting out of the marriage. Somehow he knew Tristan had no plans on consummating the marriage with Ava. There had to be some kind of compensation for proving it. My conjecture was he would get out of the contract. That backfired, and I got to observe Ava pleasing Tristan. What a night!

“She’ll be fine.” Tristan sat and leaned back.

“Bro, you don’t get it. Someone is out to get her.” I paced.

“Complimentary red wine?” A waitress poured four glasses of wine. So Adam planned on dining with us.

“You really are falling for her.” Tristan smiled and took a sip of wine.

“Don’t act like I don’t see how you look at her. It’s the same way you used to look at my sister. “ I slumped in my chair. Very seldom did I discuss my sister.

Ashley was always troubled. That’s what my father called it. I just knew her as different. She was haunted by things we couldn’t see. The last time I saw her, I knew it was the end.

“I’ll be back tomorrow.” I kissed Joseph’s button nose.

“Never change.” Ashley pulled me into a hug. “Don’t let being an elite hinder you.”

“Hinder? Being on top is the best. I’m gonna ride my bike around until I find a hot piece of ass.” I smirked.

“Being on top is lonely.” She scooped up Joseph and walked away.
