That night she was gone. We were left with her ashes, and Adam was left with burns over most of his body. He had just happened to be walking by when she set an abandoned house on fire.

“I think about her all the time. I feel like I’m betraying her,” Tristan whispered.

“She left you. She left all of us,” I sighed. “It’s time to move on. It’s okay to want Ava.”

“Can you believe it’s been six years since she took her life?” Tristan looked down.

Adam plopped in the chair beside Tristan. His mask was firmly in place. His blonde hair fell in his face. The smug look he wore needed to be removed by force.

“Where is our blushing bride?” He grinned.

“In the bathroom cleaning up from me making her cum. Something you will never do.” I leaned forward.

“Nice try with your whole setup, But don’t worry, I will be fucking her.” Tristan clenched his jaw.

“Hey, just making sure.” He checked his watch. “Where is the server?”

“She came by with wine.” I lifter my glass. “Hasn’t come back.”

“She?” Adam sat up.

“Yes?” I furrowed my brow.

“How long has Ava been gone?” Adam stood and scanned the room.

“A few minutes. You know how women are.” Although I kept my voice calm, I got up and started toward the bathroom.

“Fuck. I put her in danger.” Adam took off running,

Tristan and I ran past Adam. He was fast, but his limp impeded his speed. We reached the back of the restaurant and turned the corner. Brad had his hands on Ava. She was against the wall with his body pressed to hers. Tristan and I pulled him from her and slammed him into the opposite wall.

Anger coursed through my veins. I turned to inspect Ava. Tears flowed from her eyes. Brad would die for this.

“Fuck, Vernon. What’s wrong with you?” Adam stood between Ava and me.

Vernon? Did he not know who this was? Had Adam been a pawn?

“Hey, I know this wasn’t the deal, but she tossed herself at me. What was I gonna do?” The scumbag laughed.

Tristan and I led him out of the restaurant. He cried something about his arm, but I couldn’t hear with the blood rushing in my veins.

We got Brad outside and against the brick wall. His grin dropped.

“Call Daryl to get us and make sure Adam takes Ava home. He hurts her, and I will kill him.” I instructed Tristan. I didn’t want Ava alone with Adam, but I didn’t have much of a choice. I had to deal with Brad.

“How are you getting into Tristan’s mansion?” I lifted Brad off the ground.

“What are you talking about?” Brad looked around. He kept his composure pretty level, even with the tremor in his voice.

“The notes! How are you getting in and threatening Ava?” I shook Brad.

“Sir, I don’t know what you mean. I love Ava,” Brad whimpered.

Tristan tapped my shoulder.

“Adam wants to know which home. He specified that his house is also her home.”

I ground my teeth. “His house. No sex till the wedding night.” I hated the idea of her at his house. All three of us were supposed to consummate the marriage with Ava. I knew that. I had to accept that, but he wouldn’t touch her unless I were there.
