“I think getting the other women will be our best way to delay the fighting,” I admitted. “This place is a mess, but it’s going to take longer to get it sorted out than I think we have to do so.”

“Agreed,” Sunny muttered.

“So, are you guys coming on that trip?” I checked. “I don’t trust any of the unseelie chicks, and women are the only ones who can cross into the fae ladies’ hiding place, so I need you. No way in hell will Lian let January run into the unknown while growing a baby.”

Sunny sat up, excitement in her eyes. “I’m so down. The Wild Hunt dudes taught us how to shift while we waited to hear back about this place, so we’re golden.”

Dots grimaced, but nodded.

Mare finally put her book away. “I want to see them, too.”

“Alright, let’s get out of here.” I stood up.

Maybe it would’ve been smarter to wait a few days before taking off, but I didn’t want to risk any of the unseelie ladies trying to talk their way into the group.

Honestly, there was a decent chance the lot of them would want to go there just to hide out from the men.

Priel and I waited in the hallway while the other girls all put on their seelie tanks and shorts, or stripped down to them.

“I’m surprised the other ladies are so bitter,” I murmured to Priel, as he pulled me closer and played with a few strands of my hair.

“I’m not.”

I rolled my eyes at him.

He flashed me a grin. “Things were rough at first, Gorgeous. We’ll figure out a way to make this work, but it’ll take time.”

“If only we had more of that.” My mind went back to my dreams.

“Soon enough, it’ll be just the two of us, relaxing in the hot spring back at home,” he murmured to me. “Enjoy the wild times while they last.”

The doors opened, and all three of the girls stepped out.

Emotions I couldn’t identify swelled in my chest when I saw all of them wearing the same simple tanks and shorts I had on.

Modest, we were not.

But united?

Hellyes.

Eighteen

The girlfrom earlier tried to prevent us from leaving, the same way she’d tried to prevent me from coming inside. I threatened to punch her in the face, and she moved.

January’s juvy theory was only getting more and more accurate.

It felt like a million eyes were on us as we stepped out of the new Stronghold together.

As if we’d summoned them, Nev and Ervo came strolling out of the forest and joined the group.

“We’re going after the female fae,” Priel announced, his voice booming into the forest. “Follow us, and you die. Seelie or unseelie, we don’t care.”

With that, he tossed me over his shoulder and shifted.

I grinned at the rush of the familiar motion. It was stupid, but I loved the way he threw me around like that.

I loved a lot of things about Priel, actually.
