They’d fallen into a schedule of her coming to Searchlight on Sundays and staying until Tuesday when she went back to work at the nail salon. Mamba never would’ve believed he’d want to see the same woman more than once, but he was hooked. Thinking about her when she wasn’t with him and loving her when they were together, he guessed this was what his brothers called a relationship.

Their sex was off the charts, but the best part was lying with her afterward. Sex on the boat became Mandy’s favorite thing, and Mamba had to admit that staring up at the clear blue sky after a mind-blowing orgasm was fuckin’ amazing.

Mandy rested her chin on his chest. “I hate the thought of leaving you tomorrow.”

“Then don’t think about it.” Mamba threaded his fingers through her hair, loving the way the soft strands fell over his hand.

“Gotta love your simple logic.”

“I learned a long time ago not to stress over what I can’t change.” He reset his hand on her shoulder. “Don’t mean I have to like it, though.”

“Any word when you’ll be coming back to Vegas?”

Good question. The last few weeks put him in a state of denial. Living only in the moment and enjoying Mandy’s visits fooled his brain into not thinking about the future.

“Even if I came back to Vegas, we’d still have to sneak around.” He heard the edge in his voice. “You gotta tell Ajax about us.”

Mandy drew in a deep breath. “I know, it’s just that—”

“You can’t keep letting him run your life. You’re a grown woman with a job.”

“And if I do tell him about us, what do we gain? My brother’s anger and possible retaliation, for what? You’re still stuck down here, and you don’t know what your future holds either.”

He couldn’t deny she had a point. Both of them fuckin’ prisoners in their own life.

“I’ll make you a deal. You tell Ajax about us, and I’ll get some answers from the Serpents.” He’d tried to coax some solid responses out of Cobra, but as usual, his prez played it close and told him to be patient. This week he’d hit up Joker to see what was going on and where he stood with the club.

He cupped Mandy’s chin, forcing her to look at him. “But just know that no matter what goes down with the Serpents or Ajax, I’m not letting you go.”

“And I’m not letting you go.”

The salon stayed open until nine on Thursday’s, and Mitzi usually stayed to help Mandy straighten up, but tonight Mitzi couldn’t keep her thoughts to herself.

“You still haven’t told me everything,” Mitzi prodded.

“You’re right, and I’m not going to.” Mandy concentrated on sweeping the dust under her station.

Mitzi harrumphed. “So, a hot cage fighting biker takes you out on his huge boat, cooks for you, and you’re going to tell me nothing happened?”

“You are impossible.” Mandy stopped sweeping and leaned on the broom. “If you must know, we had very hot, very steamy sex right on the boat.”

“I knew it,” Mitzi shouted.

Mandy swiveled her head around the empty salon. “Be quiet.”

“Why? We’re the only ones here.”

“I know, but—”

“You have got to stop sneaking around and tell Ajax.” Mitzi rolled her eyes, drama dripping off every word. “You’re an adult and allowed to see whomever you want.”

“That’s what Mamba said.”

“Ajax isn’t your father. He can’t tell you what to do.”

“I know that too, it’s just—”
